    4 of the 7 people working for the sheriff’s office (including the sheriff’s son) are up against charges. It’s always the “law and order” types that break the law and order.

    ACAB but sheriff’s offices are probably some of the worst. They seem to have the lowest qualifications for entry and a real hillbilly mentality. I’m sure offices like this bury people in the back 9 that never get discovered.

      Probably because sheriffs are elected, and aren’t overseen by any government body. In between elections, they can do anything they want. The podcast In The Dark covered how a Minnesota county sheriff bungled, and then covered up, the investigation of the disappearance of Jacob Wetterling in 1989. Around the country, sheriff departments consistently have crime clearance rates below 20%. Pathetic.

        That depends on the state. In mine they’re policed by the state troopers, and there’s really no blue brotherhood there because the troopers think they’re better than regular cops.
