Trump has unleashed an epidemic of plane crashes.

I mean, he really has. None in 16 years, then something like 8 in under 2 months?

It’s still a tiny fraction of the some 100k daily commercial flights, but it’s still alarming .

None in 16 years? Maybe no airliners, but there have been plenty of small planes crashes in North America. They’re pretty dangerous.

You’re correct. Guess that’s what I get for regurgitating info that I haven’t vetted myself. I think the jist of my post still stands, though.

Between Jan 1, 2010 and Jan 1, 2024, there were only 2 large passenger airplane incidents, with a total of 4 deaths between them.

True, but the rate is indeed alarming.

We’ve had 3 plane crashes taking 5 or more lives in 1 month of trump, whereas that rate was 7 in the whole of 2024 which was a particularly deadly year. Or we had 15 plane crashes with 7 or more deaths in these 6 years and 20% of those happened in this very month.

But need not to worry, we’ll know when the pattern becomes obvious because that’s when FAA’s accident reporting system will go offline. https://data.ntsb.gov/carol-main-public/query-builder

Did any of you read the article, or did you just read the headline and jump to push anti-trump propaganda?

I dislike stripping down ATCs, who are already overworked. But this ain’t related to that. This was a PPL crash on an uncontrolled airstrip. I struggle to imagine how this is Trump’s fault.
