This is something very important: Don’t focus on aplications (FOSS or not) but on open data formats and proper import/export mechanisms so you can switch applications easily.
I think that this should be done on the network level by providing a DNS Server via DHCP or include filtering in your router if you are afraid of users changing the DNS Server (but maybe it’s better to lock the network settings in this case).
But I see that not every User has the possibility or ability to do it this way. therefor having the option to do it in the OS is feasible for these users.
I especially waited for the Parental control features to land in GNOME 50. Great to see they made it into the release. Now I don’t need aditional tools to enforce bedtime for my son.
Document annotations in the Document viewer is also a nice thing. But I would rather have proper Signing support via certificates for professional use cases.
Thanks for the comment. But I think something like a simple budgeting tool does not really fit my need. I could use my existing banking solution and achieve the same thing. But I want harder restrictions like:
Thanks for the Tooltips. But I think instead of using a separate budgeting tool I could also just use my already existing banking solution and get the same result. These Budgeting Tools do not Hard limit or enforce a Budget. Because (for me) they are just more advanced Excel Sheets.
But I want something more in the way of:
But I see that this intention of me was not clear in my inital post.
A simple spreadsheet is to “raw” for me. It basically boils down to: Everything needs to be setup manually. But I want to manage donations, not develop a donation management tool/Excel Sheet

I also second this. Working like a charm for me over 4 different devices and 3 different Operating systems.

I am wondering that nobody mentioned https://www.usebruno.com/ yet. Works good enough for our Team. We are sharing the collection allongisde the applications code to keep both in Sync.
Can you help me out and point me to the transphobic slur in the linker Screenshots? Maybe i do not get “the slang” because Kam not actually familiar with it.
OK, if it is not within the linked Screenshots then it is lacking context for me. Thats why I asked for mode context. To better understand.
Actually that’s what I like about GNOME. I don’t want a ton of customization options, a right-click menu with multiple dozen entries and a settings menu that needs a “table of contents”.
Reduce the UI to such a degree, that you cannot remove anything more without breaking. Thats what I want.
I was reading through the conversations (Screenshots) in the link. And based in what is provider there I do not see a problematic statement by antheas (or how he is called). Maybe more context is needed?

Thanks for sharing this! This is a pretty cool site!

At least some form of reality check and accepting reality happened.

Besides it being a learning project for yourself. Why should people care about it more then something like conan? I don’t want to downplay your project. But you need to bring something interesting or new to table to get people interested.
Me personally I don’t think that package managers will ever be a widely used thing in the C/C++ world. Both languages are mostly used in low level or close to Hardware programming. Both requiring good understanding and knowledge of the Hardware you are running on. And this is contrary to the benefits a package manager offers, which is General purpose and easy to reuse code.
One of the most used F-Droid Apps on my phone

Just wanted to say thank you for the information that this is based on Wifi Aware and the proprietary AirDrop protocol from Apple. Helps understanding why there are some limitations.
I like the “Power connected status change”. Helps to find out if the charger is relly plugged in. Hopefully Papers will receive support for digital signage which evince never did. This is still lacking in GNOME.
For me it’s openSUSE Tumbleweed on my Desktops/Laptops and openSuse Leap on my Servers. The killing Feature for me was the propper BTRFS integration with Snapper for seamless rollbacks in case I borked the system in some way.
One “downside” for me is the mix of Gnome Settings and Yast on my Desktop. But I like yast on my servers for managing everything (enabling ports in firewall, network config, enable autoamtic isntall of security updates, etc.). Also openSuse is not that common, so sometimes it is hard to find a solution if you have a distribution specific question.
Personally never looked to closely into openSuse Build Services (OBS). But I know some people who really like it.
Me personally I am using a Lenovo Yoga 370 (don’t know what an update to date comparable model from Lenovo would be) with GNOME as DE. For PDF annotations I mainly use Xournal++, which works quite well for annotating PDF’s and highlighting certain parts. You can get more information in the Xournal++ Documentation at https://xournalpp.github.io/guide/pdfs/
