I think some luck plays into this too, and I think a good person recognizes this.

can we all stop using the phrase “the elite”. Elite to whom? That’s their fucking word, they are not “elite”. fucking, gross word use imo.

“They”
the big “they”
Hate that shit in a headline.

The shooter argued it was an accident, he thought the CO was a deer, and …was let off.

Many years a ago a conservation officer was called to a small, rather unknown state park we have here. The call was because someone was poaching on the land. The poacher shot the CO dead. He also was not convicted.

It says private field, but They renamed the state park, so perhaps the field was the one that borders the park.

I read all this, and I can only think about my time in school pre cell phone.
I think about how today, there are in house couselling service centers in nearly every school in the state, staffed by mandated reporters. My school counselor is the reason my abuser went to jail, she helped me.
I dont believe they are taking away thier voice. We all have that. I teach my kid to use his, he’s not muzzled.
We can disagree, we do, and that is okay. I just think the positives outweigh the negatives. Phones were banned in High school when I went (grad. '06) and theyve been banned at my sons school already for years.
The state is just aligning with what most districts have already done here. I appreciate you saying you dont think lawmakers intend to harm children (but they are). least we agree half way?

That article is about CT, not texas, why did you comment?

I live in CT, and I guess I’ll just lie about what I see and hear too?
We mine as well live in different countries tbh

then what the hell are you talking about? sorry im responding to all your shit, youre blowing my mind rn.
I am inside my sons middleschool, during hours, in ct where the ban is, multiple times a month.

thats not true, where do you go to school, what grade are you in? you cannot just say this without supporting evidence.
Theyre not banning talking at lunch. They had silent lunch once so far in my sons school, and it was because of a brawl that nearly broke out so they whole grade was punished.

I have that book, from 1968 I believe, have you read it? its a good one.

where? not in CT were the cellphone ban is happening.
it adds relief to the pick up line. ask anyone who works the front desk at any school about the pick up line. see the stress washover thier face.

The kids also use them to bully the shit out of eachother

As a thriver of my education system, I want our education levels back at its peak of the early 2000s.
Ive a son, currently in middleschool, in CT, and he is not worried about this at all.
we had early cellphones when I was in highschool, not everyone had one, and they were banned. Go to the librabry computer during your study hall if you really need your fix. Maybe get a book while youre in there.

fully agree. Most CT schools already have banned cellphones, theyre just adopting it on a state level.

And it’s a history of it from one generation to the next so there’s not good male role models in most people’s lives for mental health.
Through my own observations in life, It has become abundantly clear, how important having at least one good male role model (mainly fathers) is on the development of boys into men.
Absent, or I guess one could say, low quality, (I dont like that, but shitty) fathers have such a terrible impact on thier kids, and you see it follow them into adulthood. My entire bio fathers side of my family, the men are all fucked up, lost, and… just lost… through the generations, all of them. The women are 50/50. Some are okay, some committed suicide, or did drugs, but not all. The men… no one survived unscathed, drugs, violence, SA, prisions and homelessness… and those my age now pass the garbage to their kids. I was raised outside of my bio fathers reach, so learning more into adulthood, its been wild to peer into the family objectively.
It is so important young men have good male role models in their life. It’s become abundantly clear to me the impacts of this.

yes, that’s exactly what they said.
I love how you quote the article and people downvote you.
