That’s what I’m saying. The difference between the 4 and the 8 is €230, which means it costs that much for the induction heads. Or about €60 a piece including the rack parts.
There is still a bunch of hardware that goes into the moving tool head/extruders to grab the induction nozzle.
So doing the math here, it’s about €440 for the extruder/electronics, and about €60 per induction nozzle+ housing.

To be fair, the early ones were pretty crappy compared to what they have now.

These days all but the most extreme tasks can be done with cordless.
That’s great and all, but not all batteries need lithium. When another battery technology gets mature enough to surpass lithium based batteries, then we’ll still be stuck on old tech cause the government is subsiding it.
This also reduces the incentive for making more lithium efficient batteries.
Subsidies can help, but they need to be more generalized so they don’t create issues moving past current tech. Heck, look at how much trouble we’re having getting past oil, that’s a perfect example.
