in the us its a deductible followed by a percentage up to a maximum out of pocket. So you pay 100% up to the deductible which can be a grand or several. Then you pay 20% till max out of pocket which is over 7 grand at this point. That is beyond monthy costs that are creeping toward a grand per person. This is beyond the fact of denials which don’t get taken away from your max out of pocket. So it cost 2 grand a month for my wife and I where my employer payed my monthly costs in 2024. Now keep in mind I have a sick wife so we go max out of pocket every year. But yeah if japan had no max out of pocket we would be screwed at 30%. One surgery would sink you.

this is one of those things you can’t anticipate. you either hold it together or you don’t but its different for different folks and just all sorts of little things can seem to make a difference. some photo you looked at before or such.

yeah and honestly that sounds like something from a decade ago. I find things are not in the linux ui at the level things are not in the windows ui and if anything more run into having to do registry or powershell with windows. much more often I can find an install in linux that will give me the ui if its not already.

from what I understand there are only a few ways to make ethanol that is decently net positive. This was why it was huge in brazil because it works well with sugarcane but that is because the fiber is burnt to provide the energy for the distinllation and such. using corn or sugarbeets is anemic and you use the waste product as animal feed to up its anemic returns. I remember swtich grass being a thing but looking into it it seems like they have not really solved the problems of breakdown.

When my wife and I were playing the cryptic mmos she played sto and neverwinter. She made it a point to make characters that crossed the genres. So a bunch of her sto characters were in some sort of transporter accident that sent them to never winter. gorn became dragonborn, vulcans/romulans became elves, she had plans for her catpeople but we stopped playing before neverwinter brought one over if they ever did.

Well thats the thing. For a tech person and compared to my peers I use pretty minimal stats. I only started feeling constrained by 8 like late teens and I was fine with 4 in the aughts. I guess my own personal ram usage level has been doubling although the aughts were insane. Having a 1 gig drive was a big deal coming into them and we had ram measured in kilobytes in a lot of our hosts. The pace of tech expansion in the first decade of the millenium is multiples of what we see after.
