I use a Norton Commander clone (Total Commander) lol. Having a huge list of bookmarks in a drop-down menu with subfolders is super helpful for my work.

All our network shares are Azure hosted, so Microslop is getting corporate $$$ regardless. And I think that bug has been around since forever.

Dude. Same. Windows 11 at work is fucking awful.
My laptop idles at 12 out of 16 gigs of RAM free.
Right clicking takes dozens of seconds, especially on a network share.
Did IT remove a letter mapped network drive? Haha! Fuck you! Windows hangs indefinitely if you open Windows explorer. You gotta fuck around in the registry to remove that shit.
The only good thing about windows 11 is tabs in Windows explorer. Which MacOS and Linux have had for a gazillion years.

I’ve been having issues for a while too.

I love to shit on companies for doing evil shit (like Apple removing Targeted Display Mode from their iMacs), but Apple did the right thing here, but communicated it in the worst way possible.
I had an old iPhone that would randomly shut down when it drew too much power for the old battery to provide. If they hadn’t done the fix, I would have had to get a new phone; it just wasn’t reliable anymore. With the fix, things were slow, but they worked. Honestly, this is the opposite of planned obsolescence.

Lol.
Their other food is more expensive but it’s still quite cheap.

If you want cheap food, Costco food court is where it’s at. 15 bucks (if that) for a large meal, a drink, and some kind of dessert.

When I was there 6 years ago, it was $10 or $12 for a gallon of Costco branded milk.
At the airport, I watched a family of four pickup their checked baggage: a package of Costco toilet paper, a package of Costco paper towels, and two black and yellow totes with other groceries in it.
The town was awesome, I’d love to go back.

One shitty EV they co developed with Subaru.

Was 3.5 million dead in the Holodomor not enough for you? Holy shit. Touch grass.

I mean, it’s only wrong 50% of the time.
This article is about software tools, not those other things.

Here’s an hour long video about gas stoves. At about 29 minutes in, he looks at CO2 levels. The CO2 results are not brilliant to say the least .

If he keeps bathing in sewage, he’ll get sick eventually.

I would die on the opposite hill. No spaces, only tabs.
What’s your reasoning for liking spaces?
For anyone like me whose bullshit detector calibration is off from the past 10 years of crazy, this is indeed a real tweet from the official White House Twitter account.

I’ve found Linux Mint to be easier to install and use than Windows. (I don’t have to enter the console and allow myself to setup an offline account because no network drivers were working in Linux. Windows 11 did that).
I’ve never had issues with graphics drivers, despite using Nvidia cards. The only issues with Linux have been because I broke something when I was messing around.
Get a USB drive, burn a Linux ISO to it, and try it out without installing it.

I tried one of those alternatives once. It was like chewing on gristle. The flavor went away within seconds. I’d rather eat glue. Hopefully they’ll improve, but I’m not optimistic.
Paul Blart is a fictional mall security guard. Kinda incompetent, excessive sense of self importance, but a good guy.
Derek Chauvin was a real cop who murdered George Floyd by kneeling on him, cutting off his airway until he died.
