I am concerned but is there enough information here to know it’s bad?
Braves Adblock is generally very good as i recall. Traditional adblockers block content that is already downloaded while brave blocks it from using bandwidth at all. (Please correct if wrong)
Its the other toxic and malicious crap it does and the far right sympathies that are its real problems.

Scam site?
Url tunnels you trough different sites before ending on a fullscreen foced yt looking video that you cannot click away
Part of the reason is to to get controlled competition.
Same with google being the largest donator to firefox. If they wouldn’t do this it would create a hole that could motivates many others to create new innovation that could become a threat to them.
Also so they can deflect anti monopoly laws and also because they benefit from open source themselves.

I love the concept, i have even been working on something similar but, big buts…
Recommend ubuntu? While many are moving away from it.
Ai chat with ollama as a prominent feature? Controversy aside, this survival computer better packs some hardware, which may cost more precious possibly limited power.
Note taking app? Besides the intention to run it on ubuntu which i presume already includes something to work with markdown… any computer with a terminal can make notes as far as i know.
Hardware scoring and community leaderboard? wtaf
Things like offline wikipedia in kiwix are indeed pretty cool but in general the way this software describes itself feels sloppy and based more on vibes then anything though out.

Where are all the “respect Charlie Kirk” people at?

Card against humanity… maybe…

Free movie editing on windows peaked on fucking vista.

Meta ai not bothering with user consent is very on brand. It learned from the best.

Disgusting for sure but thats a really bad argument to make something illegal. It’s the same rhetoric used to ban queer sexualities.
The generative stuff is often based on real stuff and regularly ends up being deepfakes of real people who are affected, thats not victimless.

I am not talking about people who have easy acces to processed foods.
I don’t have exact stats nor know how big% of the world that is but people going to bed hungry and being underweight is absolutely still happening.

If that 60% of people who aren’t weren’t occupied with working hard not to starve they might take offense to your use of “we” (Satire)

First I hear of if but a quick scroll shows it mostly to organize an existing collection so you would still need to download.
I put them straight into jellyfin which works fine for me.

I wont be home till quite a few hours.
But also its general boilerplate enough an ai can help you get you one according to your own preferences.
There are also a number of examples online.
This one looks pretty interesting https://github.com/panchi64/auto-ytdlp

Laughs in
Txt file with favorite channels as input for a yt-dlp download script schedule. Combined with a selfhosted invidious and freetube desktop app for other then favorite videos.
Honestly I am really tired of jumping trough hoops, have to make sure yt-dlp and invidious use a proxy (cloudflare warp) or google will ban your ip for being a bot.
But having to deal with the actual YouTube site or reopening my google account is worse. Its not even (but still also) the ads at this point but pure resentment against big tech.
I have no idea what was up with the multiple steam windows, it did feel like he was actually cursed when that happened.
But the “weird control” issue in l4d2 which was then solved by using a custom launch command found on protondb… thats super real.
Eventually you learn to check protondb as a habit the second you encounter any kind of game issue but for a newcomer thats another hurdle.

The only solution is getting a smart fridge for each household member.

I am pretty sure anyone will still be able to install a distro/fork from a free country, but steam is unlikely to go this route because convenience is part of the package. They may not even care to resist because they already ask your age for the steam store.
I am more curious what this will do for non standard devices with multiple users. Even kitchen equipment may run a derivative of linux these days and they don’t come with keyboard access.

Linux is just a kernel.
Redhat with fedora and steam with the arch based steam os will be the ones that have to implement it.
You forgot an “/s” because yes that is a fair criticism toward google.
Banning this game under that logic would be just as dumb as banning most of the internet and if their rules where enforced consistently then that is what they should do.
But the contextual key here is that they should keep the game on their store and maintain consistently enforced guidelines of what is actually not allowed.
