Unfortunately, yes, they have to “punish” this.
But it’s still a great publicity stunt that has now gotten the eyes of many people, a new petition on the matter would likely gather a lot more support.

If it was ever about protecting children, we would ban cars first. As they are the biggest (or one of in most countries) killers of school children old enough to be even looking for porn or whatever.

You should have to turn shitty new features on, not turn them off. In fact, you should have to download them as an extension when you want them.

We are already at chonky UIs, every webpage/app has 80% less information on the screen at any time than they did 20 years ago.

Given CXMT doesn’t just up their prices after gaining market share too. Also China can just ban the export, or tariff it.

I think Facebook’s “end to end encryption” just means it was encrypted when it got their servers and then encrypted again when it got to the end user.

Ugh I hate nationalism so much.

Rest in peace to this browser.

The only identifable information you should have to provide is the information you signed up with.
I’ve had a couple sites ask for id, but that wouldnt verify I own the account anymore than just me sending them the email from the same address I used to sign up with.
GDPR has a flaw iirc, where it allows this, I guess the UK version isnt any different.

They don’t want to do it in a corner where nobody can see, they want to push it on existing projects and attempt to justify it.

Depends if the wallet records data of what site required verification. Any amount of privacy being eroded is bad.

It’s not? Power draw and efficiency has always been used as a major negative to a lot of things, it’s why we have more power efficient devices now. AI is consuming this power for what exactly? It’s entirely pointless, only there to enable a circular economy among mega-corporations.
But that’s beyond the point here…
It’s entirely irrelevant if something is a negative to one thing and not another. When talking drawbacks for something, there isn’t a list you have to pick from, they are going to be specific to it.

Using a massive negative of AI to attack AI is confusing to you?
Fuck AI, but a respectable stance.
And then you have the ShareX developer, using a screenshot of an AI response to respond to a GitHub issue.

Good job UK, you will push children to dangerous unmoderated sites instead! All in the name of state surveillance!

Yup. I’m not joining Discord servers to see announcements or for support. I avoid projects or products exclusively relying on it.
A popular but unofficial Android app by “catfriend” was weirdly taken over by someone with no credentials. So everyone lost trust in it and the new maintainer was very sketchy in their responses to concerns.
There’s no controversy with the official project.
Better than living nowhere!
