Nice perspective. I had a wtf moment reading they charge for Gimp etc, but I imagine some casual PC users installing linux would rather pays for the convenience than troubleshoots.

Am I wrong in thinking it’s better that it doesn’t show up in google result? Of course it sucks that it is deliberately hidden, but I feel like it will help the site staying under the radar from unwanted attention. People who put a slight effort to find it will still be able to find it.

I would dare say PurpleElephant1994 is already much better than most passwords people have been willingly tell me.

First time I heard of Ferdium. How’s your experience using it? How is it compared to, say, Beeper?

Last time I checked, Google Voice is only available for US residents. Not sure if there’s alternative.

Same as you, I also haven’t fully dipped my toes to the world of self-hosting (yet).

1. For non-animation movies/series, I wade through the popular/trending categories or read recommendation from friends, lemmy or, god forbid, reddit. I don’t really need to do this lately as my shows backlog is as long as my games backlog.
2. For convenience always. 720p is fine for me.
3. I stream. Unless it is one of my favorites I want to keep.
4. Real-debrid+Stremio.
5. Stremio does it for me. Also for anime, I have Anilist.

Applicable to everyone really, especially those that want to sell you something that sounds too good to be true.

True for English shows, I had substantially harder time finding non-English shows.
