I wouldn’t clip onto a hose, but maybe some plastic flashing or a plastic bracket. Most cars have something near the battery that would work. It’s not essential; just can make it a little easier.

The important thing is not to complete the circuit near a battery, since it can cause sparks which can ignite the flammable vapors that batteries tend to emit when discharging. This is especially important near the dead battery, which has potentially been discharging quite a lot recently.

So the usual sequence is:

1. Dead positive
2. Live positive
3. Live negative
4. Dead ground (to the metal chassis, ideally not right next to the battery)

I usually start by clipping the dead negative cable to something non-conductive to keep it out of the way and then move it to ground as the last step.

Possessions you have control over at the beginning of the day would matter (so yes, being rich is still an advantage), but I imagine any intangible funds would be worthless.

Chocolate is what poisons dogs. There’s just a much higher concentration of it in dark chocolate than milk chocolate. Too much milk chocolate can still kill a dog, and “too much” isn’t even all that much. 8 ounces of milk chocolate for a 30 pound dog is enough to be concerned about.

From what I can tell from the article, it’s not clear what the guy was selling. Maybe it was the claimed drugs, maybe it was water, but he had no idea and he was not only unaware, but also was making claims (“highest quality” and "made in the US’) that were patently false.

So he wasn’t so much “providing a path to medicines” as he was fraudulently making the claim he was doing so while putting all his customers at risk of harm.

Or were you referring to the previous situation, where a sitting judge and prosecutor were related? That seems like a valid point, though perhaps it’s easier to remain impartial in that case.
