  • Great points, and as a citizen of the US, I often forget that many don’t have access to the healthcare me and my peers do, nor is everyone lucky to have the amazing doctors I’ve had. I too have been feeling very scared and often sad; I try to stay logical and seek positive solutions I can apply, BUT IT IS HARD. The general feeling of malaise has thickened the air. I also have more knowledge in some scientific fields than the average person, and logic has always been my comfort and bedrock, so seeking doctors’ advice gives me solace. Focusing on local communities can cause one to forget how a larger population can be affected or how they may respond.

Seems to me that since our “dear leader” is unapologetically trashy, it gives the general population permission to forgo respect or civility. It’s frustrating and can make those of us who try to maintain decorum feel like we are going insane.

  • I was able to update 2 of 3 devices early last year, but couldn’t upgrade my old custom build. I did that due to possible tariffs; didn’t even think about this “AI” BS. Thought may as well just buy a custom build now. Wanted to wait another year, but I won’t be upset no matter what happens with prices if I get it now. I’m not sure my old girl can outlive the return of easily available PC parts. At least I also bought some extra storage over a year ago.

  • The reality is, anyone can gain that kind of wealth by their 40s/50s if they are financially literate at a young age. You can make a median income and still come out a millionaire if you invest even a small amount consistently from late teens/early 20s. Bernie is an old man, so anyone his age that did that could easily be a multimillionaire without trying too hard, even with a middle class income. Now, I’m not sure how he obtained his wealth, just saying that millionaires aren’t all evil or born rich, in fact most didn’t come from wealth.

The main issue with many Americans not getting that far is poor financial literacy. Most don’t figure it out until their 30s, so they end up behind. Obviously, I won’t include those who were born in poverty as that is a whole other issue and is very difficult to overcome.
