K-9 mail is literally Thunderbird. It’s been rebranded and taken over by Mozilla. They’re keeping the k-9 branding as its own (otherwise identical) app as a nostalgia token for the people that have used it for a long time.

The color ones have lower resolution screens and less contrast+brightness than black and white. If you read comics it’s a big step up, but if you read mostly black and white text, it’s a downgrade.

It’s a Linux phone on Debian that uses Android drivers, so all the normal functions (calls, SMS, etc.) work perfectly. Battery life is a full day.
