Yeah the effort and disruption was my main reason for holding off for so long, then I set up a dual boot on my desktop and laptop and honestly after spending a week away with just Linux laptop I didn’t have the patience for windows when I got back. So far there’s been some fiddling around but a lot of my games have worked fine. No idea about those games but protondb can give an idea.

Shit like this is exactly why I’m mostly free of windows now. Sure there’s some bits and pieces that I’m keeping just in case but I’m not regularly booting windows for anything now. It’s been about a month and besides some minor things it’s been nice.

The whole goal of these algorithms is that you put an input in and the output it gives out is as close to the most likely to be correct answer as it can be, training is just repeating that process. We’re several years deep into these “most likely” results and sometimes they’re pretty close but usually it’s not quite there because the only guidance they get is from outside.

TB is effectively cured, however it still kills more than any other disease. It requires months of antibiotics and interrupting the treatment can result in resistant strains showing up.

Yeah, I should mention that my perspective is very much an outside one. I’ve never been to the American continent. But I think a lot of us are tired of nothing happening even if it’s better than the alternative in the short term.

Nobody wants to start it because the consequences would be huge and right now sitting around doing nothing is still possible.

If there was a way of ensuring a truly benevolent dictator I think it would be great, however any dictator we could pick realistically would be inherently flawed.

Idk if you’re being deliberately obtuse or just didn’t understand but I interpreted it as the 15 year old had their phone taken then beat the teacher within an inch of their life and the student had apparently had past issues, also they were big. Context + some creative interpretation makes it pretty easy to puzzle this one out.
