Nope, I’m running ext4 on pretty much everything.
Nope, I’m running ext4 on pretty much everything.
Interesting, was there anything in particular that you did with the services other than editing the service to run as those particular users?
Side note, I just tried to chown the sabnzbd folder and everything inside updated but the main folder itself refuses to change. Even after stopping the service.
Edit: scratch that. I closed and re-opened Dolphin and checked the properties of the folder and now it’s showing correctly.
I’m still working on learning about containers but not quite there yet.
Default being, when each service is installed it creates an individual user/group (sonarr, radarr, sabnzbd) and the folder that is created in /var/lib/ for each service is set to those particular users/groups.
At this time, sonarr and radarr seem to be ok (I will need to double check after an update to them) but SABnzbd reverts the folder permissions every time I reboot and complains whenever I reboot since it can’t write to the db or log files because the permissions change. I have looked at the config but didn’t see anything outstanding that would indicate a reason it would be changing. Unless I am missing a different config file somewhere outside of that folder. There aren’t any settings from within the web interface pointing to that either, at least from what I could see.

All four sites are already back up.
Doesn’t mean they won’t go back down, but I really hope these fuckwits going absolutely batshit rings some bells so damn loud that people finally wake the fuck up and throw their asses in prison.
Doubt it, but one can hope.
Edit: changed three to four

Sorry for the delay, I’ve been quite busy.
Here’s a link to the powershell script.
Take note of line 4. It is looking for a separate file called discover_printer.ini to retrieve printer information from. You can name the ini file whatever you want, just make sure to update the name within the powershell script.
Here’s the link to the ini file. Not sure why I even bothered to put it there since it’s so short lol.
PRINTER1_DEV_NAME= The name you want the printer to show up as in Bambu Studio
PRINTER1_USN= Serial number of the printer
PRINTER1_IP= Local IP address of the printer
PRINTER1_CODE= The access code for the printer that is in lan mode
You can do multiple printers in one ini, just change the number at the end of “PRINTER” to the next number.
We use this for X1E models, but the script looks to be generic so I don’t think it will matter which one you have.
I have only seen one person have an issue out of the 50 or so that use this script. It will connect from his machine but consistently fails to send files to the printer.
I just put the powershell script and the ini in the root directory of the Bambu Studio installation and make a shortcut to the ps1 script on the desktop. If you have powershell scripts locked down you may need to add a key at the bottom to allow it to run.
To use the script, open Bambu Studio first then run the script and browse to the device tab and click the + in the left hand menu to bring up discovered printers.
I hope it works for you.

I’m going to save your comment for now. I have a script that I use at work that helps with printer detection because we have a very similar issue. I’ll try to post it here if I remember.
Running the script after launching Bambu studio helps with detection of the printer. Only caveat is that you have to run it every time you launch Bambu studio.
It’s nothing malicious, I’ll just post the code for you with the important bits that need to be changed noted.

Thanks for pointing that out, I’ll definitely have to take a look.
I’m not much for watching YouTube videos for that info, I’d rather read an article with links to the data or information.

According to the bambulab blog (on the official bambulab website) they explicitly state that you are free to downgrade or not upgrade and your printer will still work.
Edit: they even have a specific note about users that never want to upgrade and it states that it is fine, and their printers will still function.

It’s not that difficult to go into your router and just block all external traffic from a device so yes I trust mine not to phone home.

They don’t automatically update.
Unless that’s something new, mine has never updated automatically, it always asks me.
Thank you for the explanation.
I did notice that they said HDMI/DP but didn’t really put two and two together to understand that it was for each port. Makes more sense now.
Also didn’t know what the starship/Matisse was either.

As much as I feel churches should be taxed regardless, I could go along with stricter enforcement of the non-taxable status if it were unbiased and actually enforced regularly. I wholeheartedly agree with you on having that enforcement applied to all sides.
We often see how rules and regulations are easily abused, and the amount of money to buy someone has been shown to be relatively low so actual enforcement is questionable at best. Were it not though, and we were seeing verifiable (transparent) progress on actual enforcement, I would be ok with that status being maintained.
Not that my single opinion matters, but things can work when done correctly and I believe in the right of individual people to practice their own religion as long as those beliefs stay contained within their circles and do not have any influence in policies, politics, communities outside of their own personal choices. Though that is an extremely difficult task to accomplish. People have jobs, and lives, some of which happen to be in influential positions and their choices can and likely are influenced by their personal beliefs related to their religion.
We end up in this conundrum where someone else’s beliefs are imposed upon the masses. To that point, you could also say, well non-religious voices also influence choices that are imposed on people as well, but generally these choices are more about being less restrictive to access to things like medical care or abortions or whatever other myriad of things there are that get voted on. So it’s kind of a double edged sword, but the religious choices are often more restrictive to people’s rights.
The end result often being, we don’t like this thing so we are going to take away your ability to do it, read about it, etc. So no progress is made. This also coupled with rampant corruption and the use of religion by corrupt individuals to reduce education and control the masses keeps leading us down the road we are on, and until we have another revolution or the government is expelled en masse and rebuilt with a younger, educated, less corrupt (hopeful wishing) generation, then we will never make any strong and lasting changes that would serve to help everyone rather than restrict their rights.
It would be wonderful if we lived in a world where people could have their beliefs but mind their own business when it came to other people’s choices.
Thanks for responding and have a great day!

You make the comment “the poor should be taken care of through taxation”. How do you feel about churches being taxed?
I am not religious at all, but I do know a pastor who is very kind, and have talked with him quite a bit. While he believes in God and the Bible etc, he is also respectful and understanding of the times. He believes in abortion, and takes criticism in stride without trying to make stuff up when responding. If he doesn’t know, he will admit as much.
I called out his entire church group in front of him for being hypocrites (I had/have some minimal involvement with them due to my relationship) when they openly criticized another religion and started trash talking them because an extremist did a suicide bombing. They immediately started trying to backpedal and make excuses for what they were saying. There were several other very shitty things a few of them did over a period of several months so I started pointing everything out. They all got silent and the pastor stepped in to appreciate in a manner of words what I said, and told them that kind of response to an event no matter how bad it was, was inappropriate and not representative of an entire group of people.
Ok, so sorry for the back story but there is a reason. Pretty much every church I have been a part of (I grew up in the Bible belt and had religion shoved down my throat growing up) I have seen nothing but hypocrites. One single pastor that I have met, in my entire life, I feel would not complain if churches started getting taxed.
So what is your take on churches getting taxed?

You aren’t wrong in the bigger picture, but the fact that I can change to the highest resolution and I get essentially 0 buffer time and it just automatically starts playing at the higher resolution tells me that the bandwidth is there between my device and whatever server I end up connected to that is hosting the data. Otherwise I would likely have a slight delay of a few seconds for it to buffer as it pulls down the data.

And even if you select high resolution preferred in settings, they will absolutely serve that shit at a low resolution forcing you to manually select the resolution every damn time.
Yes YouTube my connection is absolutely fast enough to watch at the max resolution you can serve, don’t pretend it’s my connection to cover for your intentional bumping down in resolution.

That is really shady. Unless you live in a rent controlled apartment I’d be curious if they even have legal recourse if you used another provider unless there was damage to the apartment.
You could probably force the complex to let you use whatever provider you wanted as long as the infrastructure (conduits in the ground etc) is there and it probably is. But I would likely be a very annoying fight.
More than likely they are getting a kickback from the ISP to inform users that they are the only option.
We have a (kind of) similar situation here. Our complex has these devices installed by the local electric company that turns our water heater on and off on some randomized schedule that is claimed to be based off of our usage and the local time. We were never told about this device and it’s not in our contract. On top of that, the property management group gets a kickback for every one that is installed in a unit.
We don’t have the most stable schedules (random schedules, night shift, day shift, etc) so of course the device couldn’t figure it’s shit out and was just shutting our water heater off at different times. I had to call the power company to have them disable it.
There has been a history of corporate things like this happening where providers do shady shit, kinda like gangs having their own territory and “agreements” not to sell dope in each other’s area to keep their profits stable and not mess with each other or whatever other reasoning it may be.
My point is, there is more than likely some shady business practices going on between the ISPs and the property management.

Why does your apartment management have a say in it?
If there are other providers in the area then you likely already have lines running to your place and shouldn’t need their sign off on it.

Similar SF story, down at Fisherman’s Wharf, during COVID, two people on the sidewalk just getting it on lol.
Ok, yeah.
Fell asleep last night sorry.
I did the following for that. I just went and double checked it and it is set to what I want it to.
[Service] User=username Group=groupnameOk, I’m not entirely sure what happened but it’s working now. Just restarted my computer and it didn’t revert.
Strange.
