Yeah, it’s like when firefighters “save” people from burning building and everyone’s like, “well done firefighters, you did a good job” and I’m over here being smart and sensible saying “if firefighters were such heroes, why did the building burn down in the first place?” because I am very smart and sensible.
The Swedish Navy’s ships do have some bonkers designs, like massive barcodes printed on the side. It’s so that when they get back to port they can scan the navy in.

In The Night Garden is designed specifically to get kids to chill the fuck out and it works so well. I remember having to babysit my nephew once and he was getting worked up by a show called Yo Gabba Gabba which seems to be specifically designed to cause seizures. The next day, oh, that’s weird, that channel is broken and, well, damn, I guess we’ll have to watch In The Night Garden on CBBC instead. It was like a totally different kid.

I just 100% all-the-time will always want someone to release a fork of GIMP that is totally identical in every way but has a different name. I can’t tell you the amount of time it was rejected by schools because of it.
I don’t want to hear a single one of you calling others for falling for AI slop ever again.
By all accounts it was someone who didn’t speak English as their first language and described the version as “last” when they meant “latest”.
For all the people on here quick to mock others for being gullible enough to fall for AI-generated slop, this is embarrassing.
Rockstar are good at optimising their games. GTA V ran better than GTA IV on the same hardware. I wouldn’t be surprised if GTA VI runs well on the Steam Deck.

It’s always this. “This brand new £1500 laptop I don’t share with anyone, coddle like a newborn and barely use for anything other than running Office is so much better than the £350 ten year old laptop I was sharing with my entire family and was used for playing video games, downloading warez and pirated media, and running Office.”
Yeah, no. I have to use a MacBook at work and there is nothing it does well that an equivalently-priced laptop from any other major PC manufacturer doesn’t do better. Performance is good, but not great, and, again, is trounced by most of its equivalents, even the Surface Book. Window management in MacOS is appalling, the built in applications range from adequate to basically unusably bad (looking at you, Safari) and every bit of it seems to have been designed to be different first and better second.
It is shocking difficult to buy a new laptop without one. Yes, I know about Framework, System 76, etc, but go to your local big box store and every laptop is covered in either Microsoft logos or Apple logos.
Given how far Tim Apple’s tongue has snaked up inside Trump’s fat ass this last year I wouldn’t worry too much about the “willingly” bit.
