Just to add to this:
Linux Mint is popular, because they are what Ubuntu could have been. They give you Ubuntu without all of Canonical’s anti-user decisions. They also have a version based on Debian if you really want to avoid Ubuntu completely.
Bazzite is also a very popular recommendation for gaming.

Anna’s Archive is great if you know what you’re looking for. No pirating or VPN needed.

FitGirl often repacks DODI and other repacks to make them smaller. I’ve heard people having trouble with FitGirl repacks often have a better time with the DODI ones.
Check the site to see which source was used to make the repack and try downloading the source one instead if that’s an option. Might solve the issue.

That would be pretty cool. But I’m sure there’s either a good reason or a good excuse for it.

But they won’t be as colourful and fun, which sucks.

Yes. Gimme electronics that look like this any day.

Jackett is one of the included plugins. I recently set it up on my machine alongside the other plugins as well.

Been using it with uBlock Origin in medium mode which breaks even more sites and I don’t have much trouble with broken sites.
For the occasional website that just refuses to work, I use Cromite.
This, of course, will depend on the sites you use as well so YMMV.

IronFox for LibreWolf fans on Android.

I also don’t agree with the killer games thing, but humans are very adaptable as a species.
Normally that’s a good thing, but in a case like this exposure to something shocking or upsetting can make it less shocking or upsetting over time (obviously not in every case). So, if AI is being used for something like this and being reported on isn’t it possible that people might slowly get desensitized to it over time?

That’s fair, but I still think it shouldn’t be accepted or allowed.

Fair enough. I still think it shouldn’t be allowed though.

Yes, but how is the AI making the images or videos? It has to be trained on SOMETHING.
So, regardless of direct harm or not, harm is done at some point in the process and it needs to be stopped before it slips and gets worse because people “get used to” it.

They’ve accomplished nothing except further pissing off some of their most competent user base.
I don’t think they’ve cared about the competent users for a very long time. They only want the users who click OK or Next without reading or thinking.

I only know the DNS blocking from them.
ETA: Not sure if their app does more.
