It’s true that things are worse on a cheap tv but even if you buy a $5000+ flagship model it will still have advertising baked into the os

Depends on what kind of sprinkler system and how old it is. Some of them are closed systems and the water stays stagnant until it’s set off, so when it finally goes the water itself is a hazard because it’s been sitting potentially for years. It tends to come out very disgusting, black sludge that smells like actual shit. And then you have a whole specialized response and cleanup required because it’s loaded with bacteria.
They won’t clean it though, they’ll piss away more money to hire specialized cleaners and contractors to fix the damage

It’s also worth noting that microplastics appear in basically all body tissue, including the brain, when looking at samples from cadavers in recent years. I don’t remember the name offhand but one study found enough microplastics in the average brain to make a plastic spoon.
So this might be more of a correlative thing, hopefully. Because the world ain’t stopping with plastic everything

You can retrofit electric drivetrains to basically any car but it’s not cheap and takes a decent amount of research and expertise in fabrication

I saw it too. It also made no sense because his fears are not addressed in any way. He lays out all these intense concerns about AI in his home and the result is literally having the AI go “oh hey don’t worry about that here’s a thing to distract you”, he takes the bait, and then it just ends.

DNS Adblocking although you’ll need special rules for your tv (each vendor varies) and it has limitations. The ad networks have known about dns Adblocking as long as it’s existed so they circumvent it. On a pc with something like ublock (especially the old manifest 3 version) you can also stop scripts used to get around this but obviously on tv that’s not an option (plus it doesn’t always work, cat and mouse game)
I’d really like the ad industry to burn and everyone who works in it to go to jail

This has been a thing for years although it used to be sketchy blogs (and probably still is tbf in addition to this). Back in the days of rapid share, mega before Kim dotcom got busted, etc. some people just can’t figure out torrents or they live in a situation where torrents can’t be used (isp shaping, internet controlled by a 3rd party that blocks torrenting, etc) and usually http downloads are fine in those situations.
If you ever have to rely on this get jdownloader at least

He already called it a false flag

Lmao no they fucking won’t. I mean maybe like 0.5% of consumers, or less, will. Some number that pales in comparison to the amount that just buy a bambu because “it’s just easier, FOSS needs to get on usability and make it so that it just works 🤷♀️” while failing to see that their utter laziness and incompetence to solve even the mildest of problems and expecting everything to “just work” in exchange for money always means trading their rights and privacy away.
Look at the people that complain about jellyfin but then also complain about plex becoming increasingly hostile. Look at the people complaining about Linux but also whining about windows descent into madness. Etc etc. and in cases like this the buy in cost is nothing but your time! You think the average consumer, who openly invites corporations to fuck them, is gonna be like “hmm I’m gonna spend money to build a solution.”
No goddamn way. They’re gonna bitch about the legislation, they’re gonna bitch about how things got this way, then they’re gonna give bambu and anycubic and Microsoft and openai and Google and apple etc etc all their money. They’ll probably sign up for subscriptions with each company

Always did, especially so with anime

On this note: if you root your webos tv there’s an app to truly disable Bluetooth, assuming you don’t use it. Imagine my surprise when one day my tv turned on with a request to allow my neighbors phone to connect to it? Modern convenience. I’m sure my neighbor just fat fingered the device list while trying to connect something else but the fact that it was even an option is absurd

They murdered way more than that, no one gave a shit about the murders until it happened to a white lady. And really they been murdering for years. They just do the standard shithead “I’m technically within the letter of the rules so you can’t tell on me” shit where they game the system (that they set up).
Case in point: the tactic used by the guy who shot the white lady was not one of the recent hires. He’d been with ice for years and before that with border patrol. So why is he stepping in front of cars, especially when apparently he had an incident stepping behind a car somewhat recently that almost caused him grave injury? Oh and also it’s against DHS policy for agents to stand in front of, behind, or reach into vehicles:

People make mistakes but surely someone went over policy while debriefing the incident where he got dragged by a car or whatever. So why’d he do it again? Oh probably because border patrol does it regularly because if they purposely put themselves in danger it gives them an excuse to use lethal force with plausible deniability and basically never gets looked into because the overwhelming majority of the US populace couldn’t give a single shit about brown people being murdered:

Also note that in this internal review cbp points out what many have pointed out in the aftermath of this: a bullet won’t stop a car, shooting at a car runs a tremendous risk of hitting other people as it’s likely to be in a populated area, and even if you’re successful in incapacitating or killing the driver you’ve basically just created a several thousand pound missile that’s still barreling towards you (and others) with no feasible way to stop safely (which is exactly what happened here. Also note this review finds 15 cases of discharge, several of which resulted in occupants being struck.
This shit has been going on for ages and the apathy towards it in the past is part of what created the conditions for it. It’s escalating, for sure, but it’s not new at all

People have been screaming this since right to repair, since FOSS, since Microsoft in the 90s, since stallman. Consumers consistently lose because the vast majority of people don’t give a shit and politicians that could regulate our way out of this are easily purchased.

I worked in a hospital for years that did shifts as 8-8-8-16. The 16 was rough but you got used to it and a permanent 3 day weekend was amaaaaaazing to the point that my life since has been very unsatisfactory. A 2 day weekend is utter bullshit especially as you get older. It’s barely enough time to recover

$600 last month to run my heat pump. Can’t really disconnect it because it’s 30 degrees here rn. Awesome

Classic lib with internalized homophobia can’t wait to call people slurs because they’re on the wrong team
Were you also furious at minorities that voted for trump? Did you call them slurs

This took the joy out of everything.
“Oh you write music? You should make an album and sell it” “oh you cook? You should make a ghost kitchen/foodtruck/marketplace” “oh you do 3d printing? You should model stuff for people or make a print farm” “oh you do open source stuff? Why don’t you work in coding or at least do fiverr coding jobs?” “Oh this home server is cool you should set these up for people for money”
FUCK YOU
And then when they find out I just like, post recipes or code or models or whatever online for free because I want to contribute back to the communities that taught me a lot they’re like “you’re crazy”. Maybe I don’t want to fucking monetize everything. Maybe I’m sick of everything being monetized. Maybe I believe information should be free and this hustle culture tech bro bullshit that took over the Internet post 2006-08 or so where everything has to be paywalled or monetized is absolutely cancerous and should be destroyed.
Our greed will destroy us all
that’s true but they’re more expensive, sometimes prohibitively so. If you want an oled panel they’re basically unfeasible, especially if you want a larger panel >55”
