The thing is, if the country wants age verification, the country has to give a way to verify the age of their citizens. A website by the government that returns an encrypted cookie verifying the user as adult would be the solution. The work is on the government as they are enforcing a rule.

Another way for the government is to verify a company to do this work, with the security this entails.

I don’t think politicians ever consult someone for these changes. They just want to de-anonymize the internet.

Arch was my first distro after going back to Linux. I really liked learning the inner workings of a computer and an OS.

I know plenty of people who just want a plug&play experience with the only input for the install being name, password and date. For them, I would never recommend Arch, simply mint or pop_os would do just fine as the only thing the computer has to do is open up the browser.

I just want more Linux users, not specific distros. In the end if you know your way around Linux, the distro choice doesn’t matter, you just choose a package repo

I have been moving to epub for reading books, my app of choice is Librera. It has many customization options.

KeepassXC makes a file with the passwords that is encrypted, sharing this file with a server is more secure than letting the server manage your passwords

I don’t think coding in C is basic stuff, depending on the IDE, you can learn about using the terminal, compilers and if the course gets far, memory allocation, a really important tool in Linux programs.

Thing is M$ is showing you the cloud as the first option to make you use it and buy more space when you need it.

Google got sued for making the google the default chrome search engine without asking the user. I think M$ is doing the same with the cloud storage but asking you with a pen about to mark their option. And the programs don’t even remember you didn’t choose the cloud the last time.

When are we getting an antitrust for trying to cram down our throats the cloud?

I’m eyeing a fairphone or a pixel (graphene) when Europe makes swappable batteries the standard. Until then, I hope my phone keeps on working, I don’t change phone unless my last one dies.

I really hope swappable batteries make a comeback to ditch the portable batteries and just swap a fresh one.
