I used to get most of my music from mp3raid as a teenager

Don’t know actually. I’ve never heard of it for sale. Turns out that wasn’t what they meant, but I wouldn’t have thought it was so hard to make.

I know a lot of people who would completely agree with you, so maybe there was something special about the 60s, 70 & 80s. Many artists today even list those classics as their inspiration. But it depends on taste too. I personally think the conventional rock genre is worn out. So if you’re only into that then maybe it isn’t worth exploring further.

I also agree that most artists today only seem to hit a couple of great albums at most before they fade. I think there’s more to greatness than popularity, but yeah there’s not many artists producing amazing music consistently for decades. There’s a few, but fans also seem to move on quickly as well now.

But I do think the talent and great music is absolutely there. It just might not be in the form you want.

Rock was very controversial when it first started right? Thinking Elvis. And I’d say that’s opened the doors to a huge variety of new genres. To the point where the concept of genre can’t even categorise what we have today. Artists have so much more creative freedom now imo.

And I expect there’s way more active musicians today as well, so people’s attention is spread across so many different artists and styles.

I can’t speak for conventional rock, a lot of what I listen to is considered alternative/indie rock, and I don’t know how to measure greatness, but the music I’m hearing today is for me, much more artistically and emotionally impactful than anything I’ve heard before.

If you’re talking about modern pop, I completely agree. But there’s so much amazing music coming out every year, way better than anything before it imo. My guess is if you really do want to find great new music, then you’re not exploring enough. Or maybe you’re happy with what you already know.

I interpreted this as real meat tissue grown synthetically rather that minced ingredients that mimics meat.

There was a time when there was no content here, but people came because of what it stands for. Decentralisation, freedom from monetisation and corporate censorship, etc. The fact that that the content is now comparable to reddit is a huge achievement. And you can still visit your niche communities on reddit. No one’s going to ban you for using both.

Buying new is still screwing yourself over. Buy second hand and take advantage of all the fools thinking they have to upgrade every year.

You can easily find a cheap old phone with an SD slot. If you have music downloaded then you don’t need good specs, just put it in flight mode so the battery lasts longer.

Racism and hate. I’d love to address drivers tailgating (#1 cause of accidents, so easily preventable), or hating cyclists (every person who uses a bike instead of a car means less road congestion, less waiting, not more).

But I think addressing racism would have a bigger impact right now - we’re genetically the same, cultural differences are compatible, bad journalism and social media prods us to get angry, treating others like shit only makes others do the same, etc.

So Russia has a right to control Ukrain too by that logic?? What year exactly should we all revert world borders back to and why?

• Tibetans were invaded by force, displaced, hate China and want their country back.
• The South China Sea is south of China, not part of China. Many other nations draw important food and income from the area and China is kicking them out to starve. Please do a google search at least before spreading assumptions.
• Taiwan claims to be an independent nation ready to resist China, so I’d love to know which Taiwanese say that.

So why the love for China anyway? What’s your background here?

Speculation? China has set a deadline for this to happen! And they’ve already taken territory of several other countries by force, including all of Tibet.

Popular support where? Taiwan is a healthy democracy and last I heard they will die before accepting Chinese dictatorship. And why would the US start a war with China that they’ll never win?

Honestly what do people have against Firefox that can’t be fixed with plugins? It’s the only decent browser that isn’t chrome based, and I think that deserves support. And with plugins and sync it’s a great experience.
