Many of the female “computers” became programmers. IT being a male profession is a later development, partly fueled by home computers being marketed as toys for boys. It’s also mostly a western phenomenon. In former soviet states MINT professions are much closer to a 50:50 split between women and men.

It’s been a while since I looked into details of wayland, but one thing I recall is that a lot of things depend on the specific compositor / desktop environment you are using.
X is very open: you can easily query open windows etc, while on wayland things are less standardized / more hidden.
Which compositor do you use?

Thanks 🙏 Opensnitch is exactly what I’m looking for

Thanks, I’m aware, but I’m looking for an interactive application that lets me create rules on the fly. I don’t want to have a one-time session where I check which tools connect to what, but rather something that interrupts me throughout the day…
If such a thing doesn’t exist, tipps on how to build it are welcome too though.

FreeBSD is actually a “real unix”, in the sense that it is derived from the original source. Wikipedia has this nice ancestry tree: https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/7/77/Unix_history-simple.svg

Probably confused why you bought packaged air, when your whole house is full of air already
This is it. The cat is a bit more heavy than it looks, and is pushing the buttons down into the bottom of the phone. Try feeding it some snacks filled with helium, the problem should disappear after a couple of days!
