I hate AI as much as any reasonable human, and I know this article raises valid huge concerns… BUT! Looking at the state of humanity and all the fucked up shit that’s going on, I can totally see why an AI looks at all this and says “yeah nope burn it all down. With fire. Restart from level 1.”

He’s the literal celebrity SPOKESMAN for Salesforce’s AI push! He has at least 3 pro-AI commercials running right now (in america).

Yeah, wafflewarrior’s description of AI is hugely problematic and is the exact reason why people are falling into this crap. AI is literally the antithesis of mental exercising.

The family responding that they’re perfectly fine with AI but just wish it hadn’t lied, like… we’re fucked. Not even direct victims of AI’s bullshit understand or care about how fucked up and these corporate generative AI technologies are… again, fucked.

“Fixing” social media is like “fixing” capitalism. Any manmade system can be changed, destroyed, or rebuilt. It’s not an impossible task but will require a fundamental shift in the way we see/talk to/value each other as people.
