Yep, I tried it. It actually is good with the bun. It’s like a poor man’s ice cream sandwich.

Young coconut ice cream. It’s one of those flavors we can easily get from those ice cream carts that stop by the neighborhood usually in the middle of the afternoon. There’s also mango and avocado completing the usual three flavors the cart would have, and I would always buy all three flavors available (unless I really hate the flavor).

Some of the adults would opt to have the ice cream served in a bread bun (usually just repurposed hamburger buns, without the sesame seeds), but I always opted for the sugar cones.

I’ve bounced around several clients (mobile) and frontends (web) especially when I first started. I’ve eventually settled on Voyager (mobile) and Alexandrite (web frontend).

Voyager has a lot of neat features that makes browsing Lemmy on mobile smooth and an overall nice experience. It’s got swipe gestures (configurable, but mine has long swipe left to upvote, long swipe left to save, short swipe right to downvote, and long swipe right to reply). There’s also a feature to tag a user, and to keep track of votes (in aggregate, so I wouldn’t know if I give a user an upvote in one thread, and a downvote in another, yielding a net zero, or I just haven’t given that user a vote at all). Still a nice set of features. There might be more that I have yet to discover and use.

Alexandrite, on the other hand, presents a really good desktop experience. There’s an option to have the posts (on my feed, or a community) on the left side of the screen and the post I’m reading on the right, which is great if I am just scanning a my feed, deciding if I want to take a closer look at a post. I end up mostly just using this mode most of the time.

Both Voyager and Alexandrite allow me to switch between my Lemmy accounts easily, which is a great plus if you’re having a handful of accounts (for different purposes, like one main, another for NSFW, etc).

IMO, the clients (for mobile) have a lot of competition going on, and I wouldn’t be surprised if I find a different one I’d like better. Just keep an eye out for those, I guess?

If Google decides to go full rogue and ignore W3C specs entirely and make up a bunch of their own shit, that devs then start to use because why not since the majority of their userbase use a chromium based browser, then Firefox can easily be taken out.

Which is basically the ending of the first browser wars, as far as I can remember. Internet Explorer had a little bit less market share than Google Chrome has nowadays, but still an overwhelming majority. Moreover, Internet Explorer had these IE-only tags and features, which further reinforced such things.

But here we are. Yes, Google Chrome and Google has an overwhelming majority right now, but so was IE (thanks to Microsoft’s practices) back then. Google Chrome came at the right time with what people actually wanted at that time, and so was able to gain the upper hand, and eventually a chokehold.

My response though is more about “keeping things alive for its users”, at least until such a breakthrough happens (maybe Servo has it?) or more pessimistically, until internet browsers fade away into obscurity (or perhaps just like IRC clients, it’s still a thing, right?)

I really hope that the forks coordinate for this to happen, soon, if not yesterday.

Maybe a group that keeps track what is to be done if Firefox development stops or if Mozilla folds or somehow abandons Firefox. Things such as:

• how to take over development from Mozilla
• the minimum that needs to be done to keep up to the standards
• the minimum that needs to be done to keep the (base) browser on par in performance with Chromium (and the others, such as Servo)
• coordinate developers and other people involved in the project
• manage donations and funding

Maybe I’m imagining some sort of a cooperative formed by Firefox forks with the main aim of keeping Firefox alive despite of (or after) Mozilla.

I know myself enough that I’m likely to let that absolute power absolutely corrupt me and hence, make things absolutely worse for everyone around me.

I’m not that good of a person to be able to be sure that I won’t abuse that power, nor am I wise enough to know what to do in order to use that power for the good of everyone. Worse, I’d fall under the delusion that I’m the only person with the will and power to able to do good, and that my ideals are the only ones that count.

I overthought this and wondered if a 48" thing can really go all the way in, but I was surprised to know that “The average erect penis is longer than the average vagina. ” and that it’s not really possible to ‘break through’ the cervix and go further.

Even ignoring girth, it’d probably be very painful for her (without training, I suppose) if someone just rams their 40" into her.

I’m echoing a lot of the replies here by saying “No.” Even if I’m given a choice as to what kind of life I’d live, still no.

Even if people say there’s a lot of good things in life, or that there are people living their dreams in this world, still no. I don’t play the lottery, even if I might end up with more money than I could ever hope to spend. The same logic applies here.

There would be no me to regret not existing if I don’t exist.

I changed schools. Now, even if I wanted to approach her, I can’t!

Kidding aside, I asked myself “if I am so anxious even approaching her, how can I even be in a relationship with her?” and basically forced myself to decide whether to: “yeah, this is a crush that I won’t be doing anything about it, better to not let it linger and move on” or “I must do something about the anxiety.”

If my feelings is not intense enough for the second option, the feelings will die soon enough, and will not make me regret that much.

In reality, I tend to think “no, they’re more than likely not into me (due to various reasons)”, and I’ll just let the feelings be until they decay. Did it lead to regrets? Not really. The few times I’ve actually asked and approached someone I had a crush on, they were flattered, but ultimately told me they’re not into me. The more it happened, the more I felt justified in my way of thinking.

I know right? Kids don’t need any reason to carve penises onto desks and tables and walls. They just do.

One of the older toilets used in a couple of the old school buildings (demolished for a newer one after I graduated) was permanently closed because it became so full of shit.

It was a toilet on a separate building, that was used for a couple of old buildings (one from the 1930’s if the local oral history is to be believed), and another one from the 1970’s. The stench was so unberable that the classrooms near it were also abandoned.

Oh, the school wasn’t infamous for that. I think, pushing shit aside, it’s so wonderfully mediocre that it didn’t really have anything it was famous or infamous for.

I use Anki to keep my French and Japanese from deteriorating any further. Why those langauges? For Japanese, it’s the usual answer: anime and manga. For French, I had to learn it in school and I just don’t want to let it be forgotten.

A good number of the decks I use for language learning, I made for myself. Those that I’ve gotten from AnkiWeb were already gone, but here’s some similar ones:

• French Sentences — a collection of French sentences, sorted from easiest (most simple) to hardest (most complex). This deck begins with very simple sentences, and slowly gets harder as you progress.

  I’m pretty sure this is an exact, if not a close copy of the one I got a while back.

• Dictionary of Japanese Grammar - DoJG — a deck made from the entries of “Dictionary of Japanese Grammar” (basic to advanced).

  My copy of this deck has undergone significant changes in card design (and function, like showing a random selection of the example sentences), but this one should be similar.

• Core 2k/6k Japanese Vocab — likely one of the copies of the various Core 2/6k Japanese Vocabulary decks that were recommended to me back when I started. The description I managed to find for my copy of the deck has this description:

  Using vocabulary and sentences derived from Smart.FM Core 2k and 6k and sorted by Cangy’s program via 2001.Kanji.Odyssey kanji order. This detailed deck is designed so each new card contains the minimum amount of new kanji (and by proxy new words) creating an optimal i+1 learning environment.

I think if not fleshed out in the mythology being used in the setting, it’s in the DM’s prerogative. If I were DM, I’d say the Phoenix has to actually die before it can respawn.

Slicing off a Phoenix’s wings will just result in an injured and very pissed-off Phoenix.

Moreover, I’d stipulate that whatever Phoenix parts (butchered, raw, or cooked, or even partly-digested) would disappear whenever that Phoenix respawns. And for a spicy twist: someone who digests any part of a Phoenix will have a psychic link to the Phoenix. Wisdom check after every long rest (three days after ingesting the Phoenix) to determine whether or not the person retains control of their body. Failing this wisdom check thrice in a row results in the Phoenix gaining complete control. Succeeding this wisdom check thrice in a row results in the person regaining complete control of their own body.

Thinking about this more, I think this can be fleshed out even more. There is only one Phoenix, which was eaten by a bunch of people believing eating it would result in gaining whatever powers the Phoenix originally had, maybe being impervious to fire. However, the Phoenix took over their bodies instead. Many many many years later, the Phoenix never really dies: it just choose a body it controls, and transforms it to “its original body”. Thus, now, the Phoenix is known for its “immortality”.

The problem with ingesting Zeus is that I’d have a good chance (nearly 100% based on my Greek mythology knowledge) I’d end up being pregnant and incurring Hera’s wrath, or being whisked to Olympus as his winebearer… or both!

I’ve actually tried that once, but the Jesus wafer ended up real soggy.

Charcoal grilled phoenix might be good! Maybe basted in some really hot chili sauce? Or maybe even as simple as a soy sauce based baste. Keeping the phoeinix moist with some basting liquid is probably a good way to keep it from burning.

I don’t mind a deep-fried baby Phoenix tho.

Jesus wafers with grape jelly is something I’d definitely snack on.
