Who the fuck is buying Billy Jack on DVD in current year?

Agree but this does need to be explained to people who aren’t in the know. These laws are currently being marketed as “put the power in parents hands” in various states left, right, and center.
Its a good bet when there seems to be widespread bipartisan push for restrictive laws that literally no one asked for, it’s gonna be something bad. But you have to explain to mouthbreathers in the electorate why or this shit just gets rammed through.

Great. Can’t wait for price increases or data caps or both.

CNN was reporting he had some kind of explosive material along with him. So maybe he expected it to go off but didn’t.

Fuck Tony for a number of reasons.
Brandon Hererra will win his seat and is a huge upgrade at that position.

Hmm, good thing I drive an EV and live somewhere the electricity costs 15 cents / kWh.

A lot of people have payments that high and beyond because they bought more car than they could afford, saw a newer shinier one later, and rolled their loan/trade forward into an even worse situation. The amount of people with negative equity in a fucking car genuinely shocks me.
One thing that is easy to overlook - use a high quality USB cable to connect the phone to your PC for web installation of the OS. There are many garbage-quality cables floating around out there that may charge a small accessory but could be lacking in the data transfer department.

Been daily-driving Linux for several months now. There are literally zero critical workflows that I can’t do just because I’m not on Windows.
40% of things I use my PC for are browser-based. 40% have an equivalent FOSS app. 10% are Windows apps that run fine using Wine. The other 10% I can live without.

If you are going to carry, please for the love, get training. And at this point I’d say avoid the Sig P320 entirely. There’s a non-zero chance that dude got clapped partially because his CCW piece discharged while the cop was carrying it away, and the other guys overreacted to hearing a shot.

Yeah, let’s not do any of that shit either.

Here’s an idea. How about we abandon ragebait shortform slop/garbage aggregators entirely, and stop rewarding them with excessive device permissions and personal data.

GrapheneOS is about as close as you will get.
Have burners if you want, but realize that with vanilla Android or Apple iOS on those devices, they will suck up a lot of data about surrounding devices, Bluetooth devices, and wifi networks. This can be probabalistically matched to your real identity even if you use VPNs and you aren’t using any known accounts on the burners. As for GPS data, that’s even worse.
Its probably best to have at least one “normie” phone you do boring stuff on, a Graphene enabled phone for sensitive-but-not-illegal daily driving, and anything spicier than that should be a burner in a Faraday bag, which you cycle and destroy/discard regularly.

Can confirm, I recently maxed out the RAM on my decade-old rig at 32GB. At least the used DDR3 RAM was cheap. With motherboards that old you are limited to processors like Intel Haswell with 4 cores, pretty anemic by today’s standards.
It works just fine for me running Linux and doing minimal gaming. 90% of my gaming these days is on the SteamDeck anyway.
I thought as I got older I would have more money to buy current gen PC parts and build basically whatever I wanted. Turns out priorities just shifted and things got even more expensive.

Pants-on-head idiocy by the DA.
It is 100% legal in the US to build your own gun for personal use, and has been for the entire existence of the country.
Just because it can now be done with custom plastic parts instead of wooden or hardware store parts, changes nothing.
Plus there is no way to validate when 3D printed guns were created, because they aren’t required to be serialized unless they are made by a dealer for resale. So they’d have to ban ALL pre-existing 3D printed guns of any kind, regardless of manufacture date, since you’re not going to be able to distinguish preban guns.
Putting spyware into every 3D printer or slicer software, because of what people “might do”, is also ridiculous and scummy.
TL; DR- This DA needs to fuck off and just use normal constitutional methods to enforce laws.

At least he is wearing his seatbelt.

What people don’t want is blackbox AI agents installed system-wide that use the carrot of “integration and efficiency” to justify bulk data collection, that the end user implicitly agrees to by logging into the OS.
God forbid people want the compute they are paying for to actually do what they want, and not work at cross purposes for the company and its various data sales clients.

Bring back the Zune, you fuckers. At least that had cool design language.

Still running PiHole on a 3B.
The Pi 4 is plenty robust for Docker and a few small things depending on how much RAM your model has etc. Mine runs Immich well, unless you give it huge videos to transcode, which crushes the CPU and takes forever.
The problem is that even if you do convince them to eliminate office culture, many CEOs are more likely to skip straight past the “let existing domestic employees work from home for their regular salaries” and instead go to the “outsource everything to the Philippines or India for 1/5 the personnel cost” strategy.
