Consider this:

• someone forks the project and doesn’t respect the license
• extends functionality to make the data gathering decentralized/centralized
• they make a product and rake serious cash
• you are pennyless
• privacy is violated even more

I see only too options:

1. walk away as this is lost battle
2. make the data open source so anyone can acces it.

there is no moral high ground in this project.
