I like the motto “Code standard is high, vibe coders need not apply.”
Definitely a pro if you can write functional high quality code.

That and features. I use Smart Launcher because it has a transparent themes like Liquid Glass which blends with the wallpaper. Has good search function. also Auto organizes your apps in categories.

Atleast this time it wasn’t DNS.
It was last updated 2yrs ago. Of course its going to be broken.

Tildes. The discussions are indepth and not surface level like on other social media sites.
Yes, autocorrect!
I was in agreement and had high expectations with the ai;dr abbreviation usage until I read the article.
For me, writing is the most direct window into how someone thinks, perceives, and groks the world. Once you outsource that to an LLM, I’m not sure what we’re even doing here. Why should I bother to read something someone else couldn’t be bothered to write?
Agreed. If you cannot put effort into something you want to convey why should I? But, then comes the next paragraphs.
I’m having a hard time articulating this but AI-generated code feels like progress and efficiency, while AI-generated articles and posts feel low-effort and make the dead internet theory harder to dismiss.
So, AI assisted coding is progress but AI assisted writing is not? Sounds hypocritical.
and call me an AI luddite, I use LLMs pretty extensively for work. Claude Code has been tearing into my token budget for months now. I can’t imaging writing code by myself again, specially documentation, tests and most scaffolding.
You cannot imagine writing code by yourself but expect others to write articles by themselves?
Growing up, typos and grammatical errors were a negative signal. Funnily enough, that’s completely flipped for me. The less polished and coherent something is, the more value I assign to it.
But eh, broken English and a lack of capitalization is now just a simple skill away so does it even matter?
The same can be said for coding. You are getting AI to put the effort instead of doing that yourself. Why should I trust your code? I dislike Vibe coding and LLM generated articles. They lack the authenticity a real person’s work would’ve.

The re-encoding requires less computation vs other formats.

Most people including adults don’t use AI to learn. They just use it to format emails, messages, generate things or do other stuff.

HTTPS filtering in adguard requires the installation of a user certificate by adguard to filter HTTPS traffic. Apps like firefox complain and won’t work unless you allow user CA

Why would you self host bluesky. When you have an actual federated open source platform like Lemmy or mastodon?
They are infinitely better respect and grant you the four freedoms of libre software.

Yeah, AI video! Useless, we have humans we don’t need to burn resources on stupid.

Fuck AI. There is a use case for simple apps like chatgpt.
But, for most things you don’t need AI. Things like chat support for product/services, vibe coded app/website. Its all crap.

If you use addons like Ublock-origin. You can reduce the fingerprinting. You can also disable 3rd party iframes, disable Javascript which can further reduce the data being sent to websites.

Yes, you can limit charging to 80%. Many phones have this feature. But, it still feels like micromanaging tech. Not letting it drop below 20%, being limited to 60% capacity.

No, its not. Deep battery discharge and high heat can reduce your battery lifespan more compared to charging to 100%. You only save a few percentage of battery health at most after 500 charge cycles. Modern day smartphones do not simply charge to 100%. They use multiple heuristics and algorithms to only charge to 100% when necessary.
Anyway, if you really want maximum battery health. Charge from 20%-80%. But, You would in effect be artificially limiting yourself to 60% and be frequently connected to the charger. Also, you would be micromanaging the tech and, not lettin tech do things for you.
Here’s an awesome video by HTX studios who did a battery test for 2yrs: https://youtu.be/kLS5Cg_yNdM

I had to learn English from a young age because it was the primary language used from kindergarten to high school, and even in college.
I improved my comprehension by reading articles and online discussion forums, as well as by watching movies, series, broadcasts, and YouTube videos.

Usually, you can tell if someone is putting some effort. The OP is not even repying to deny any of the comments. So, ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

What QOL features improved your experience?
I simply have my most used commands in history. I just need to remember the command start and its done. Yay fish!
But, I should start saving the commands in a file backup in case the command ever gets lost.
