My partner got a pair for work when they first came out (her job involves creating social media content). I was impressed by the speakers and it’s the same style of sunglasses that I normally wear daily, so I got a pair for myself. It was so nice to be able to listen to stuff and take calls without carry around headphones or putting them in when the phone rang. I was already uncomfortable with the association with meta, but was able to isolate that aspect at first. As they continued to add features, I’ve started being less comfortable with them. I accidentally left them somewhere a couple months ago and decided not to replace them. It’s such a bummer that all the cool tech is now not just spying on you, but on everyone around you. Fuckin capitalism ruins everything.

I don’t want to see these images, but I want to know the context of them. Is there any article that describes the scenario taking place? I really don’t want to start searching for this.

Also it’s possibly the reason /pol/ exists at all since it was created within days of them meeting and having at least an hour long conversation.

What does this even mean? There isn’t a security checkpoint that will turn you away. If you wanted to, you could show up with a sign that says “God save the king. I love the Donald.” There isn’t some single entity that will say you’re breaking the rules, you’ve just got to deal with the consequences of your actions.

That being said, the crowd is a blend of leftists and non-establishment liberals, I would be surprised if anyone took a Zionist stance.

Lastly, read the room. Yes, Israel is still continuing to commit genocide. That’s not the top priority of the protest. This feels like going to a pro-choice rally and carrying a sign about climate change. Our views are likely aligned, but that’s not our current focus.

I hate headlines that say “latest shooting.” Don’t they realize that’s gonna be really confusing in another few days?

It sounds like you don’t like pop music. 1989 is an objectively good album. I don’t know anything else about any of her other music, but that single album is DENSE with well executed main stream pop.

Having said that, should tickets to see her be as expensive as they are? Should people be as obsessed with her as they are? No on both counts.

There is a closer tie between Israel and Judaism than any other nation and a single religion. For that reason, I think it’s important to make a distinction between the two. Treating either as interchangeable for the other is, in my opinion (as a Jew), antisemitic.

For example, I am disgusted by the concept of Zionism and have been opposed to all of the historical faith/culture/ethnic based aggression against Muslim people by Jewish people, especially everything that has happened as a disproportionate response to Oct 7th. I think the actions of the IDF are genocide and they should be treated no differently than other armed forces who have committed genocidal acts.

On the other hand, while I don’t practice any of the faith based acts or observe any of the traditions or restrictions of Judaism, I absolutely love the core of the religion, which focuses (as most faiths do) on treating others as equal to yourself, but also on questioning the lessons of the past and trying to consider all interpretations of it.

Yeah, the warp pipe Easter Egg was was sold me on this type of build. I really hope we get to see more non-minifig scale mocs that do this type of fan service. As I was putting it together I was trying to figure out what the hell I was building, and when it clicked? Oh man! I love showing the secret to guests.

On a similar note, the 25th anniversary Millennium Falcon has a few Easter eggs, but you only get to appreciate them during the build. Opening the Falcon up to take a peek isn’t an option.

What I didn’t realize about Columbo until watching it last year is that every episode is basically a full movie. There’s no connection between each episode, Columbo himself is the only recurring character. Each episode is an hour 10 to an hour 40 long. Also, it’s by FAR the best production and acting on TV in that era. It’s legitimately like almost 70 individual films.

As a game developer that has curated my mutual list of fellow developers, I’m saddened by the state of Twitter and genuinely have no alternative. A few folks have left for Threads, Mastodon, and BlueSky, but no community has coalesced on one platform. I would love to leave, but the fact is that if we want to communicate in a similar medium, we have to go where the people are. Right now, the people are still on Twitter.
