My life is materially worse because of how this technology is developing and being implemented. Some extremely vague wins aren’t enough to convince me to change my mind. I have heard your argument, I have measured it and found it wanting.

Right! If you don’t count the mass surveillance boost, the autonomous killing machines they’re trying to make, the environmental impact, the pillaging of our individual experiences, and the destruction of all our shared spaces online, AI is a pretty cool tool.
I started using it this week on subjects I’m familiar with trying to prompt it into a correct answer. My experience the first 8 messages are completely false 99% of the time and even after that it’s like 80% bullshit. My favorites is when I’m asking for a link to a topic and it gives me a good enough synopsis of the topic, but can’t for the life of me provide a link that’s relevant.
But Google isn’t taking it down for any reason, they’re giving someone else the revenue for the young woman’s work.
