You’re welcome. You have probably checked it by mistake. It is a bit confusing as there are about 10 checkboxes in the settings :)

You have checked “bot account” in your account settings.
It’s cool but without legacy support, there’s no way mainstream attention. Do what Tutanota does, encrypt whenever possible.

This depends on the instance of the video being used. Some instances clone a copy of the video, some use proxies, and some send the link directly to the user. I don’t recommend it if you have limited bandwidth.

I’m glad you added lemmy.ml 🙏 Yes, you just need to create a bot account and add it. Communities are added/updated periodically.

It was something like Universal Lemmy Redirect

I created this tool and have been using it in my instance since the very beginning. My instance is almost 2 years old and it’s total database size is 60.2GB.
What people don’t understand about this tool is:
Sure, it will make a small difference, but it’s nothing compared to the benefits it provides.

Do you think serving images from torrent would work? This can be done easily in the browser with Webtorrent, but I think it might be a bit problematic in mobile applications (maybe the image_proxy endpoint could come in handy here for a hybrid solution).
If it is in the roadmap, I can add this feature to the web UI as a start. Because it makes perfect sense :)
Thanks for the changes 🙏 I wonder, is 0.19.8 going to be last 0.19 before 0.20? I’m planning to upgrade if its stable enough.

If you seed only, then your bot won’t subscribe. So your All tab will be the same.
Mutual mode can put an additional load on your instance if you are not following the top communities on Lemmy. But I believe it is worth it.
If the extra load becomes a problem, you can disable the bot at any time. With the “Reset subscriptions” button, your bot will unfollow from all communities.

I would suggest you to set Federation mode to seed only. I do not recommend “full” mode for instances under 100 users.
NSFW? Your preference. Auto add? Default is fine.

I need to register on bsky.app to log in. Where is the federation in this?

Yes absolutely true. For example, GKE looks very nice, but when we use one of their features, it creates the need to use other features too. That’s why I warned the boss a lot. Even though they have great features, we try to use generic applications to avoid hooks.
I hope they don’t take the credit back :)

Yeah credits makes more sense 👍

Yes, I hate cloud too. Now tell this to my company, which received about 100k dollar credits from Azure and Google Cloud :)
Do they need blockchain for it though?
I use it for some niche communities too. Small communities are not infected with bots fortunately. Apart from that, it sucks more than before for sure.

Good to hear it’s out 🎉 I’m so hyped for the image proxy.
v1 excites me! As someone who has been using Lemmy since v0.17.0, I must say that Lemmy has improved tremendously.
