I think I tried that and it didn’t support my bank , unless I’m misremembering the app name.

As I read, it’s a common occurance on multiple roms (including graphene) since around 2025 with a dreaded “application is not official” or something similar.
I’ve experienced it on my fairphone 6 running iodé os and , unfortunately and because of nfc payments, I had to switch back to official rom and Whatsapp simply started working again with the same number.
Mind you, it only happens with new registrations, even if using the same number.
Edit: just search the vast internet for issues like “whatsapp not official error” or something.

worth adding:
Look into iodé os also. e/os/ is way to iphone-esque,but iode is sticking to a cleaner approach and also allows bootloader locking, given you pay attention to the security patch versioning “security feature”.

You could also try Yagni launcher on fdroid. 2mb, still in alpha, but very much worth installing.

Yes, it does. i recently installed a bunch on crap and decided I don’t need any of it, so I just rolled back to the snapshot I created manually, before starting the process and my system was simply restored.
Just keep one thing in mind, rolling back automatically makes the filesystem read only so You need to remount.

I’m glad I stuck with Librewolf.
This was my take as well, so I ended up with vanilla Void.
i actually ended up installing vanilla Void. I messed it up before with seating and bash_profiles, but following strictly their documentation, it took me 10 min to get a fully xdg-portals powered system with plasma.
Truthfully, it’s because I’ve become increasingly lazy lately, but I’ve been looking for a reason to move away from systemd ,as I am not a fan of hard dependencies like that anymore - been using arch for years and am looking to try other init system to sort of break away from monopolies.
You’re right of course, however, I find the Void documentation very lacking TBH and getting a minimal install with plasma and pipewire so what I need.
Edit: thanks for the recommendations. I completely forgot to check distrowatch.
Linus No Tech Tips.
I can’t for the life of me get used to Gnome on my desktop. I tried so many times, but I always get the feeling of using a tablet.
I like the concept, but it’s simply a laptop or tablet centered DE, at best.
There were some decent people in his team in the past. I’m not against anyone else, just his obnoxious character.
i’ll have a look at this channel. Thanks for the tip!
Oh no, not this clown again. Is he running out of content? For sure.
No one ever asked him about linux things, yet he still wishes to share his imbecile opnions with the world. What a joke!

Good, I am waiting on my brand new Fairphone 6.

Came here for this comment.

I’m on the fence with getting a new phone. Should I buy something now, like a Pixel 10 or Fairphone 6 and flash Graphene/eOs on it, or wait for next gen which might have these restrictions?

I’ve been daily driving linux since around 2002, but not for gaming initially. I switched to it fully about 5-6 years ago and havent’t looked back.
Compared to the trash Windows is? I’d rather “suffer” through 2 sessions switching really.

For me this is usually solved by opening another tty session (e.g ctrl+alt+f3 ) and going back to F2 or simply restarting the login manager service.
Might be a different issue thought.

The new Jolla phone can’t come soon enough. I truly believe the future of tech independence lies with linux, for us, europeans. Anyone welcome ofc.
I do hope it’ll be a good enough device, even if there will be no NFC phone payments possible.
Sure, yeah, my wording was bad. I meant besides e/os/.
