Hero of War by Rise Against - I’m a vet to this hits fucking hard.
Blackbird by Alter Bridge - My stepdad got cancer in 2020 and had a very slow decline until he finally passed in 2025. Watching him wither away was heartbreaking. I saw him around Christmas of 2024 and he was still able to get up and move around on his own, but only for a short period of time. I went back down a month later to help my mom, because he couldn’t even get out of bed anymore. The hospice nurse came one day and basically told us he maybe had a week at most. He couldn’t even talk at this point, would not eat, and you could tell he was just in constant pain. I told him not worry and that I appreciated everything he did for my mom and that I would take care of her. He passed a few minutes later with his dog in his lap. Later that afternoon, after I had gotten everything taken care of, I took his dog for a walk. This song just happened to come on while I was walking her. The line, “May you never be broken again” made me breakdown right there in the middle of the park. To this day I still cry every time I hear the song.

Billionaire CEO accidentally leaves his bubble, immediately retreats
And YouTube’s time selector because heaven forbid you want to publish a video at anything time that is not a multiples of 15.

I kept mine active but haven’t used it since Musk took over. I just changed my name and bio to my Mastodon account so people could find me. I used it for work and had a lot of people find my content through it, so I didn’t want to just kill it. I also didn’t want someone claiming my username because I use the same one on pretty much all of my work socials. It got to the point last week that I’d rather not be associated with the site, even if people know it’s just to point you to my Mastodon. Hitting that delete button felt good, but I wish I had done it back in 2022.

I can’t wait to see this cross-referenced against the Jan 6 pardons

I really thought UMPCs would have taken off

Per the Microsoft KB for it, this only happens if Windows updates are installed before a user logs in for the first time. So basically re-images and especially VDI environments are at risk of this happening.

They do still have John Savill and Mark Russinovich but they are both focused on Azure. They really need someone like them on the Windows side.

I wouldn’t put it past these lawmakers to be investors in VPN companies, so they can make money off of these laws.

This woman is going to do to smoky eyes what Hitler did to the toothbrush mustache
Sounds right up my alley then
The Blues Brothers is my all time favorite movie. I’m the type of person who doesn’t like to rewatch things unless it’s been long enough for me to forget parts of it. But I’ve watched the Blues Brothers more times than I could count. Starting back whenever it was on TBS in the 90s, to when it was the first DVD I ever bought, to the two versions I have on my media server.
I have never heard of Nuts in May, so now I know what movie I’ll be watching next.

They offer me a job a while back and thankfully I turned them down. Their compensation offer was so crappy I was offended. Like $20k less than the minimum I told them. I told them it wasn’t even close and I was frankly offended, they came up like $5k, so I told them to kick rocks. Looks like I really dodged a bullet.
Seems like they were always behind on things like that. I had a friend that would come over to my house to update his TiVo because I still had a landline and it required a dial-up connection. This was in 2005, well after the decline of dial-up.

I bet half of them where on Jan 6 lists

The US would be in a much better place if more people stuck to their guns like her.
I think saw one of the keywords was dumbass. And another looked for you calling it a piece of shit
