Prove that this is not false equivalence fallacy. Maybe there’s additional info about Nutomic that I’m missing.

Refusing to make someone’s financial situation easier until they stop being transphobic is not a convincing argument against transphobia. Think about how your actions affect your side’s reputation from the other side’s perspective.

The stack is overall amazing, but not perfect. Waiting for the Rust code to compile is sometimes very annoying, but I wouldn’t want to use a different language. And we had to implement somewhat complicated things that existing Rust libraries did not do. For example, I made the “i_love_jesus” library so Lemmy could have cursor pagination that uses indexes well and allows bringing back the “back” button, we have a few custom QueryFragment impls because of diesel’s limitations, and we have a custom migration runner to do fancy stuff (see crates/db_schema/src/schema_setup.rs).

I’m not being sarcastic. I’m so used to toxic Lemmy users that I didn’t realize how surprising it is that typical feedback is much worse than yours. While I mostly disagree with your comment, it is unique because I don’t need more clarification of it.

They did not say it respectfully. If this happened to someone else, then I would feel an obligation to take action. That comment is very opposite to my vision for the community.

Edit: to be clear, I would not have taken action on a comment that just says “you write poorly”. So the answer to your question is no.

Also I suspect that some people assume that I feel hurt from being single. Some possible factors:

• For people who are less able to put a lot of energy into a non-urgent task, I think perceived urgency would be more likely to be the first explanation that comes to mind when reading about my experiences, because avoiding projection is complicated for all of us.
• It’s hard for me to precisely describe mindsets that I have had, so I have used vague descriptions, and that might leave room for various interpretations. A severe example is when I used the phrase “almost like a goal”.
