Well, can you imagine being given a million dollars and someone coming along and saying ‘oh, sorry, you didn’t withdraw that in time and now it’s no longer there, and you owe use a $100 transaction fee’. That would really suck, wouldn’t it?

Of course to make it more realistic, your job wouldn’t require you to actually ever come into the office or do anything, they would occasionally double or triple your salary based on the stock market, and instead of it being a million dollars, it would be a dollar or so every once in awhile and you wouldn’t know what the transaction fee was because it is effectively less than a rounding error on your current balance. Also banks will loan you money and just write it off if you don’t pay it back with no impact to your credit score.
Once again, wtf does this have to do with an ‘NFL game’ that deserves space in the title? He was drinking in one place and brought that into a family shared space and didn’t like being confronted about it. Based on the rest of the article it could have been a cooking show or Bluey for all the difference it seemed to make. It’s not like there was some detail about the football game that passed him off so bad he decided to shoot two people, so why the hell is that part of the title aside from click bait?

Funny thing is even that number would be based on all the people who can pay 20 but not 800. If it all has to be balanced by the users it would probably be an order of magnitude… Or the market would play like it logically should and it would be like 3 companies paying a million a month. Seems like a lot of the incredulous ‘why would anyone care about x’ type responses to these kinds of things are from people who just don’t happen to personally be in the situation that they apply to, or even realize people could possibly experience something different than they do themselves.
I think you nearly overestimate the skills and infrastructure at a company. Sure someone already knows, but a built in teams feature that dumbs it down enough for Carol to trivially see something new to bitch about is never a good thing.
Second on the glass print bed. You can put it right on top of the existing bed and fasten it with binder clips. If it’s thick enough it will span any flaws in the existing bed and be nearly perfectly flat so you have a consistent platform to level instead of dips and waves.
Just adjust the z stop, and then print single layer leveling prints and adjust the bed slowly while it prints. The biggest things to watch for are where it prints too thin, it will look squeezed out, and where it isn’t close enough it won’t stick. It seems like a lot of work but after a few runs it starts to look better. Doing other simpler leveling test prints are frustrating because all you see is the end result.
Another thing that I’ve run into that resulted in leveling issues is if your z heights are different from one side to the other. It’s not obvious, but if the z screw of the left is different than the right, you can level all day but it will still try lifting on one side. Run the zaxis up to about 20mm on the left and then move the head to the right and check the height there. A hiccup or crash in the past could have gotten this out of line, but you can manually bring them back to square by manually turning the screw and get things back parallel.
Last thing that really messes with things when you’re troubleshooting and then abandoning the printer for awhile is filament getting wet. You can get things dead on, but if the filament has been unprotected for a few days, the slight swelling will fight you when you’re already frustrated.
Then, the last thing is measuring extrusion. Raise the head up like 100 mm, Mark the filament 70mm above the head, and use the controls and tell it to extrude 10mm at a time. Do this 3 times and then measure how far away your mark is. By the math, it should be 40mm away from the head. If you’re more than 1mm either way, you’re probably going to consistently see the issues your mentioning and no amount of need leveling is going to solve it. Technically a simple fix, but there is some math and code to send to the printer and someone here can easily help along the way.

Can we find the person who, for no apparent reason, interpreted manufacturers markings as apparent ‘trans ideology’ and ask him wtf that was supposed to accomplish? I mean if you don’t know what some markings mean, aside from blatant bias is there any possible way to get to ‘trans ideology’ from manufacturers markings? Are they using male/female icons? Emojis? Printing them in rainbow colors?

For sure it’s a two part thing, but regardless of the increased cost of US cars due to other tariffs, the price will still include the opportunistic gaming US car companies will play based on the car tarrif trump is stupidly rotting with.
Conceivably the only benefit the auto tarrif will do is allow US companies try to remain competitive against foreign companies who won’t have to deal with the materials tariffs he’s stupidly straddling US companies with.
Makes sense, but it still seems like all the recognizable ‘quotes’ mentioned are quotes the movie used, and not ones that are came from the movie itself, to the point where it would only be in very specific context where anyone saying them would be quoting Aliens.
The problem here isn’t the increased price of goods, it’s the fact that Trump knows increasing the price of non-US built cars via tarrif gives US car companies an advantage that could be used to sell more cars for less money, but will really just give US car companies the opportunity to raise prices any amount they choose, as long as it’s slightly less than the tarrif, thereby making more money and enjoying the advantage of not paying the tariffs. People will still buy cars, and they might buy American cars because they’re now a little cheaper than non-US… But if they do this, the tariffs will pretty much only result in higher priced cars across the board instead of affordable IS cars vs expensive foreign ones.
Basically someone explained to Trump one of the many ways the tariffs will be backfiring, and he’s ineffectually asking companies not to do that.
