To be fair, it seems the devices were thrown by counterprotesters who were trying to quash the 20-person anti-Muslim protest. It’s a shame, because the counterprotest had them outnumbered with about 125 people of their own. I’m afraid that an incident like this actually weakens the counterprotesters’ image and cause (although it’s NYC and I think the people there are generally really good about supporting their diverse neighbors).

As others have pointed out in other discussions, the safety on a Glock 19 is on the trigger, so there’s no way this weapon could have discharged without his finger on the trigger. Negligence like this should be criminal.

Depending on the model of the pump, you can usually turn off the sound with one of the buttons on the right. The ones I have seen have four buttons on each side, and the second or third (or maybe bottom? I forget) button on the right will at least mute the ad. It’s worth a shot. It’s so obnoxious, it’s almost worth soaking it in gasoline.
