I find the title is misleading. Title implies that the vote was wether to condemn or not.

While I did not read the full PDF (underlaying document for this vote), the title of the document is Declaration of the Trafficking of Enslaved Africans and Racialized Chattel Enslavement of Africans as the Gravest Crime against Humanity and part of it is about paying reparations.

That sounds horrible. I have never seen nor heard about a situation like that (in a legal setting, illegal work conditions are another matter). I am also not from the USA (which I assume OP), so my perspective is perhaps different.

Joining a union is never forced where I live, and you can join a union without your work having an agreement with one (they will give legal aid, probably more, and try to improve all workers’ rights. A lot of benefits I enjoy today is because someone else took the fight before me).

I’m all for unions but they should not be forced.

How does that work? Are they saying you are forced to pay? Would they sue you if you just stopped paying?

I’d say yes. But stick to ThinkPad series. I have an IdeaPad for work and I really which I told my boss to buy a ThinkPad instead. Keyboard has broken twice in 2 years.

I like the function some cars have when you can old down the lock button to close all windows (and unlock to open them), without starting your car.

There is also the case when a computer is lost or stolen. With bitlocker on, the content of the computer cannot be accesses without the key, which the new owner will not have.

I always thought that was the main point of using bitlocker.
