Stance on Cooperation:
The only war or dispute that I support is the war on inequality and suffering. People need to just grow tf up and try to cooperate to build a happier world for the most amount people with no alterior motivations.
Stance on Fascism:
All of that said about my opinion of cooperation and understanding being essential, 90% of the time, the only way to ‘fix’ a fascist is to remove them from the equation alltogether. Which should be done with no hesitation, as fascists have already willingly voided their own moral worth and can hence do nothing but ignore the moral worth of others, making them dangerous and inhuman.

Well, I don’t know anything about hooking it up to a streaming service, but I would personally really suggest the overboard way you mentioned tbh. Just set up qbittorrent with a few choice plugins (I literally just have 1337x and that has not failed me yet) and use that PC you mentioned (HDD size permitting) to run a small media server of whatever you’d like. Sorry if that is really not what you want, I’ve just found it to be the best media setup personally.

Though I have no doubt it was probobly originally a word meant to slander real communism as the western world has done countless times (few ppl on lemmy would/should deny that the west has produced a shitton of bad anti-commie propoganda), I also fully agree that Authoritarianism does actually exist as much as Capitalism, Communism, and Anarchism exists based off of the actual agreed upon definition. If you take the definition of the system itself, there is no reason to conflate it with Communism. It IS a different system than real Communism, hence why that word was used as Anti-Communist Propaganda. It associates communism with a different (and very real) malignant system to make communism look bad. Sorry if this became too much of a rant, but I really just think that denying the existance of “Authoritarian” states is not a good idea. Let’s explain to people that Communism ≠ Authoritarianism instead of trying to claim that Authoritarianism doesn’t exist.
Edit: I also fully beleive that ANY government/social system can devolve into Authoritarianism if implemented incorrectly or not vigilant enough about making sure not to centralize power in a problematic way.

Does it happen a lot around here though? Most of the time I think we’re mostly just critical of Capitalists and Authoritarians. Usually Socialism, real Communism, and Anarchism are not really critisized except by some .world users.

It’s really not, until it is. I personally see it as a fallback infrastructure for redundency if Tor, VPNs, Bittorrent, etc. go dark. But other than that, no, it doesn’t really serve much of a purpose rn.
No, I beleive that is just a snowflake proxy, which basically is just used when somebody first connects to the tor network to hook them up to an entrance node. So your computer is not actually acting as a node but rather an intermediary. I would also suggest not using Brave browser because I have heard bad things about it’s owner and just their general policies. Many people say that brave browser is really just privacy cosplay. You can just get a copy of firefox and manually harden it yourself using noscript and a vpn. Or skip that and just use tor browser for all your privacy intensive stuff.
My only thought is thay you should switch Brave for Ironfox. But other than that it looks good!

Yes, that’s why I chose the distro I chose, and why this was not a serious post were I was actually upset, I enjoy learning and reading, I just wanted to make a post about suspend bc it has made me happy. I am also aware the bios battery does nothing once it’s booted, once it’s booted the performance is the same as it has always been. So I assumed the cmos battery is dying, but not dead enough to lose settings yet.
No, it’s not different, I just use Arch and have no power menu anymore, nor did I usually close my laptop lid while I was still planning to use it. I usually just powered it down fully because it used to start very fast, but I think the laptop bios battery is dying or something, because it turns on much slower now than it did before. So finding the actual command that triggers the suspend state was so epic, because I can script and bind it now.
Who closes their laptop?
