I’m not mad about this, especially with Google pushing Gemini so hard on all their devices. I pulled up the Chromebook site to see their current offerings, and the prominent advertisement for Gemini is pretty disgusting after fresh news of another death.

Yes this is true, and it’s good to remind everyone. I just had a random idea for the (rare) exception to the rule.

Age verification is stupid. I wonder if anyone thought of using a captcha. Require users to solve an appropriately complex problem before they use systems that require a certain amount of intelligence.
Would be fun to embed empathy quizzes for access to social media 😄

Why would anyone think this is a good thing? You’re actively telling the world that your product is likely full of bugs and hard to maintain.

When I first saw this I mistook Calibri for Cambria. Why were they using Calibri (a sans serif font) at 15px for documents in the first place?
Associating the change with DEI is absolutely ridiculous, but Calibri was a silly choice. I think they should make everyone use LaTeX personally 😄

I’m half joking, but there’s a decent bit of autism in our house, and he fits in pretty well. He gets overstimulated pretty easy, exhibits a lot of self-soothing behavior, and doesn’t take cues well at all.

Our dog is absolutely autistic, and we could care less. His allergies on the other hand are a PITA.

Yep that’s I read from 2023.
He responded in a couple of blog posts:
I opened up the discord community just now to see what was there, and I just saw people being goofy and talking shit to each other. In all fairness, I wouldn’t hang out there either, but that doesn’t mean anything.
To summarize, I don’t see the Hyprland devs trying to harm others. Folks like DHH are a different story. Of course this might all change tomorrow - who knows?

I’m ok with those things too. I just recently found out about all the crazy stuff after the rubygems takeover. I’m not really a ruby fan, but that seemed pretty shady.

Edit: meant to reply to another comment.

DHH is clearly a turd, and I want nothing to do with his projects.
I’m not sure I understand the opposition to Hyprland though. I enjoy using Hyprland, so I’ve tried to make an informed opinion on whether the project is harmful. Note that I have only reviewed public information, so I might only be seeing the tip of the iceberg.
According to his blog posts, the creator of Hyprland seems to have received criticism well enough (back in 2023). Are other people in the community the main concern or am I missing something? Forgive my ignorance

The name sounded familiar but I couldn’t place it. I thought he was some old guy.

I’ve used several over the years, but right now I’m enjoying Hyprland. UWSM is also working well for session management.

Ha! The first link even includes an advertisement featuring RFK Jr wanting to “make America healthy again.”

This inherently conflicts with Trump’s instruction to challenge anti-christian bias.

Interesting. I wonder if model distillation affected censoring in R1.

I think we might be talking about separate things. I tested with this 32B distilled model using llama-cpp.
Does anyone like LLM summaries in pages? This seems like a better fit for a browser extension to generate a summary on demand instead of wasting resources generating it for everyone. Google’s documentation is absolutely littered with the mess.
