Idk man. Show someone some cymbals on a 128kbps track and it sounds like someone crumpling a plastic bag via a tin can connected to a string. In contrast flac is going to sound much more natural.

Yeah, I wasn’t sure initially if I’d like it enough to pull the trigger on lifetime. I should have. Been paying for the annual subscription for the past ~2 years, but the price of lifetime has steadily been increasing. Will probably pull the trigger later this year as a little celebration gift to myself for wrapping up other financial obligations.
I run Qobuz through a roon server on my Linux pc and it works great. I also have qobuz set up through strawberry, but it’s nice to be able to switch the output on the fly between different audio setups in my house (between my office setup and my bluesound streamer in the living room). The interface for roon is nice, but I get that it’s kinda expensive and there are cheaper ways to achieve the same thing. I like to stream while I’m biking on my indoor trainer and sometimes it’s nice to spin up a few songs and let roon take the wheel to keep the vibe going. I can also stream qobuz through roon to my Google home devices, but it doesn’t stream bit perfect.
All that to say, I like qobuz and roon is pretty solid as well, albeit an extravagance and totally not necessary. The writeups qobuz has are also solid.
I do think the qobuz app interface leaves something to be desired.
When I was much younger I bit down on a metal straw and it broke off the inner portion of my two front teeth. They should be banned!!!
But for real, all good until you forget it’s metal and bite down on it. I’ve since outgrown my aversion and we have metal straws in the house now (some with a silicone sheath at the tip to prevent mishaps like mine)

Not exactly what you’re looking for in terms of being free, but you could get a Qobuz subscription then use Qobuz-dl to snag what you want to download in lossless quality.

More secure to disable sites from running js. There may also be performance considerations if sites are running js client side

Same, recently traveled from the US to Paris and they used a facial scanner. Also used one upon my return to the US and I have Global Entry.

The issue is that health insurance shouldn’t be tied to employment. This could very well be a payment plan for a much larger bill, so op is probably paying off $200 a month over a year or more.
Not everyone is so blessed to have a low deductible plan. Most people have high deductible plans. Having a deductible of $6k or more is as good as being uninsured. Most people can not deal with paying $6k for an emergency - it can zero out folks bank accounts or be a hamper on their month to month budget.
I think they might get sued because as a publicly traded company they’re beholden to shareholders (I agree with you)
