As a younger millenial I can’t help it – Gangnam Style was and still is great

What I can think of in German: Rose, Erika, Jasmin, Iris (maybe Viola but that’s not really the commonly used name for the flower)

I know this is a lot more difficult than it sounds because attention is a finite resource, but giving each of them the attention they need. This does not have to be the same amount for each child but none of them should feel like the other one is getting attention when they need it.

Most adults I know that don’t get along with their siblings felt like they were neglected compared to the other sibling(s). Whether that’s objectively true is hard to tell but it’s worth checking in with your children from time to time.

Not faking reactions or emotions. That doesn’t necessarily mean showing every emotion you have in it’s full force. Just to not pretend to have different emotions than you actually have.

And yes, that means people can be genuine assholes.

I feel you could choose another metaphor though, and it would make sense.

Like, when you go to a shop to buy something or buy something online, you have already chosen the destination. Then you decide how you pay, choosing the source.

To me both make sense equally.

I regularly do yoga and it has helped me several times when I had back pain from sitting too much. 20 minutes of yoga targeting the back and I was fine again.

A few weeks ago there was already a related discussion because the pride flag was not flown in front of the Bundestag for CSD, unlike the previous years. The fractions of Linke and Grüne (the left and green parties of Germany) decided to show up in clothes coordinated to form a rainbow flag, which was pretty based.

It’s a relief to read that, I was having a severe culture shock there for a moment.

Does this egg-washing thing Americans do mean you have to keep them refrigerated even if they are hard-boiled? Because where I live you can keep hard-boiled eggs for days or even weeks even at room temperature. I never heard of anyone just throwing away the eggs they hide for kids. You hide them, the kids find them, you put them in the fridge, you eat them.

Edit: I don’t know if you added the part about refrigeration later or I just missed it before. That answers my question. I guess it makes sense because the shell will be porous. Wow, I never considered this affects easter customs.

For what it’s worth, while there certainly are public bathrooms with stalls from floor to ceiling, the most common design does have gaps between the floor and the stall (at least here in Germany). Just not as big as the gaps in the US. You’d have to get uncomfortably close to the floor of a public bathroom to see anything. And no gaps between the door and the walls.

I also have very good color vision.

For me it heavily depends on the context. For example I have spent some time working out a color palette for my wardrobe, so now the colors I use there are heavily associated for me.

Without any context, it’s similar to your grouping, except for the second group: oranges go nearly all to the reds, yellows go to the greens, browns go to black and greys.

Are other people allowed to hear our song when we play it? If so, I choose Macarena and then sell my attendance at parties and weddings and so on.

The indoor pool I learned swimming closed a decade ago and since then there is no public indoor pool in the city anymore.

My grandma’s recipe for Spätzle (egg-based noodles) is: “You start with the amount of eggs you need for the amount of people, add a bit of water, a pinch of salt and then flour until it has the right consistency.” Her recipe for pancakes is basically the same.
