To be honest I have been struggling to understand the relationship between the PRC and DPRK. I know geopolitics is difficult and that there has been a lot of mutual aid and cooperation between the two states, but I find it hard to explain stuff like this (from Wikipedia):

China condemned the 2006 North Korean nuclear test, as well as the subsequent nuclear tests in 2009, 2013, January 2016, September 2016 and 2017. China abstained during a 2017 United Nations Security Council vote about sanctions on North Korea, leading it to be approved.

Do you disagree on my remark that Trump is a pedofile rapist or only that about the slave owners that also happened to be founding fathers for a genocidal empire?

There exists ample evidence of how widespread rape is today and throughout history. I do not see why you give slave owners the benefit of doubt in this regard, seeing as they had a blatant and fundamental disregard for their fellow human beings, in their eyes property.

    baseless hyperbole

an absolutely incredible claim requiring incredible proof

I do not think it is much of a stretch to think that there were a fuckton of rapists in times past, judging by the fuckton of rapists in contemporary time. To be honest, I think it is awful of you to assume that men in positions of power do not rape, when we have so much evidence that they do (and please do not talk to me about “not all men rape”, because that is not what we are talking about, we are talking about systemic issues).

Boys at 16 years old rape sleeping girls, because they can. Film directors and businessmen (unsuccessful ones as Trump as well) rape women and children, because they can. Slave owners raped their slaves, because they could. This is a question of power dynamics.

    Bring receipts!

    No.

  • Denmark’s social democrats were doing rough for a while against the conservatives and far right. After the immigration wave of 2015 they changed their stance (like most Nordics and the EU in general) towards an anti-immigration and xenophobe stance.

This delivered them great success in elections due to them appropriating the popular talking points of the far right. Prior to this here in Norway, the social democrats, even as they were doing badly themselves, joked for some time that at least they were doing better than social democrats of Denmark.

TL;DR The Nordic social democrats, with Denmark in the lead, want to be toughest in class on crime and immigration to do well in elections.

In my opinion, this is just an internal contradiction of late stage capitalism, for which their ideology is not capable to compensate.

  • Geostationary orbit is far higher than low earth orbit and I would assume following earths twilight zone would not be much better. I do not see why you would either, with reaction wheels you could orient the satellites towards the sun regardless of the relative position of the earth, with the caveat that earth may block the sun which is hard to avoid entirely anyways.

Also, there is not that much cool breeze in space, famously known for not having vast amounts of air (still have IR-radiation to help though).

Edit: Probably ate the onion, didn’t I?

  • I used Solus for years, it was actually my first long time Linux distro, and I have fond memories from that time and deep appreciation of the project. Note that I say used, because I have moved on (to EndeavourOS and later NixOS).

The reason why I moved on is the same as why I would recommend against Solus: the project have lost a lot of its core contributors. At the time I left there were no package updates for quite some time (used to be weekly).

I am not quite sure Solus really got a future. There are talks about converging it with AerynOS, former SerpentOS, which is innovative but still experimental software built by the original team, i.e. those that left Solus in the first place. Though they are really proficient in making the software, I do not think they have the same skillset for securing longevity through contributions.

In the end you should not care too much what people think. You will get the popular options for the intersection of Lemmy and Linux users, but popular is not always good nor what is right for you. Just try stuff and be ready to move a little through rigorous backups, you do have backups?
