That helpful link shows just the A1? I have an a1 mini from 2024 I hope I don’t get this issue? Now that I know more about 3d printing I’ll be er give my money to bambu again. Literally cancer to open source, glad I’ve never connected my printer to WAN and always have it in LAN mode.

How will this affect vaultwarden? I’ve been using it for 5 years and absolutely love it. I’m worried that I’ll need to switch to something else though?

+1 to this, you don’t have to activate. You get an activation watermark at the bottom right hand corner, not a big deal

Lan mode only, firewall blocking all internet access to it and I’m good to go. Bambu studio connects to it fine and still works with homeassistant as well.

Let me know if you find the 1.03 firmware version as I can’t seem to find it anywhere on their site. The latest for the a1 mini is 1.04 and it was released on December 10th.

Dang thanks for this, I have vlans and use opnsense but I couldn’t figure out how to connect to the printer from bambu studio. Ive installed the udpbroadcastrelay plugin on opnsense but it still doesn’t seem to connect. Do you mind posting a screenshot of your pfsense config?

Yeah this sucks, I just bought an a1 mini with AMS, I love it. I do have it in LAN Mode with no internet and I still use bambustudio since I believe that is open source no? Lets hope they reverse this but I don’t see them doing that. Hope I can still use the printer without upgrading the firmware or somebody is able to make open source firmware for the a1 mini…

Man I hate tech space right now, every company grinding out as much money as possible anyway they can because “security”…

So I’m just not going to update mg firmware then? I’m already using lan only mkde, and if I have to start using an SD card I guess I can do that.

My A1 mini is 3 weeks old and I love it but this sucks… It always starts with “security” and i can totally see them going subscription model and locking you into their ecosystem. I guess that’s why it was so cheap and on sale haha. Sucks to see such an amazing product and success to go downhill so quickly…

If an employee did this and there was this much backlash that said employee would be promptly fired…

Thanks everyone for the suggestions! I think I’m gonna get the a1 mini, they do have a ice deal on and I don’t think I’ll be printing large items and it’ll be nice if I want to print multicolour items in the future with the AMS lite.

Any recommendations on a browser similar to mull on android?

This is exactly why I don’t have graphene os, the irony of having to support google is too much for me call me paranoid but i also dont trust them with the hardware piece either lol. I’ve been running lineage os without gapps and its honestly great, updates and patches are every few weeks, super stable and awesome.

This is why I specifically pick phones that have custom ROM support. Then I don’t need to install gapps and I just use fdroid

I just switched over to using heroic launcher from lutris, its prettier and a smoother setup IMO. I have had issues as well installing some games from fitgirl, the install always failed. However they would install on windows just fine. So I did that then copied over the install files to my Linux hard drive and setup them up in heroic launcher.

I’ve only had to do this with 3 games from fitgirl, maybe I’m missing something but I could not get these 3 games to install on linux. This is why I keep a hard drive with windows installed on it :)

Use the jellyfin kodi addon works very smoothly. I’ve been using it for two years and love it. I replaced all my chromecasts with kodi. It even has the approval of my wife.
