Did he do the little nod to get a higher fuel limit? Is this how it worked for him at Chipotle?

Most honorable? Just tell them you made a stupid mistake. You don’t need to share the details. Will they talk? Sure. But you don’t need to share if you don’t want to.
Least shameful? You were mistaken for someone else who made a stupid mistake and didn’t have your ID on you. They let you go when they realized you weren’t who they thought.

I use Mio or other “flavour enhancer drops” for carbonated water to make all kinds of different sodas. My favourite is either cherry blackberry or pomegranate. I know it doesn’t help with the cake situation, but hopefully you can at least still make some fun water.

I never said there was only one victim, friend. Many people may be hurt by a single action, of course to varying degrees.

Still victim blaming. How do you decide what someone else chooses to be called? 27 years is a long time, and there are a lot of good reasons to hold onto a name even after the person you shared it with turns out to be bad for you. Does everyone who estranges from their father need to change their last name if that’s who they got it from?

Fair. We were looking at probably around the same time and then decided to buy a prebuild to lock the price in. By the time it was built a year and a half later it had gone up by about a 1/3rd.

I appreciate the thoughtful context. Having experienced things that were later reported on in the news, though, sometimes it feels like the writers just latch on to odd details or have a word count to hit.

I know people are doubting this happened but I’m pretty sure it’s a symptom of paranoid schizophrenia to think that one’s electronics are trying to speak to you.

I think this is also a reflection on self awareness.

It sucks for everyone. I guess except for the doctors who get into it for the money, but insurance billing is one of the biggest culprits of provider burnout in the States.

Comparing to the dotcom bubble is what finally made it make sense in my brain. Though I know the toll it took on that sector’s workers and I don’t envy those in fields that are going to be affected the same way.

Can you explain how we’re beyond bubbles like I’m 5? Is it that there are gentler market corrections now?

I second this!! My pharmacist has saved my butt so many times. He knows me by name and reminds me when my prescriptions are running low.

You are HIV Trump. 😊😔😊😔

That’s my dream office haha. Somewhere that no one knows exists.

Interesting architectural mystery

Assholes don’t build lasting societies.
Thank you for articulating my point better!!!

It can certainly feel that way. And I do think there is no such thing as an ethical billionaire, if by favouring assholes you mean rewarding monetarily.
I argue though, that without kindness there would be no societies. Even if the parable of the Margaret Mead’s healed femur isn’t true, the fact remains that there are in fact those who help, and they are probably more plentiful than those who hurt. They’re just harder to spot, because media makes money off emotions and fear and anger are stronger than hope.
To quote Mr Rogers “look for the helpers”, because they are there. And if you’re not seeing them, maybe it’s time for a news break. Including social media, just for a week. And then see how you are feeling. I have to take breaks now and then, and I promise it helps.
Hahah thank you! I’m fairly certain daily games spawned out of this offhand post I made a few years back, always happy to see it on my feed
