2 months agoYes, thank you! Ubuntu, in my opinion, is not a beginner friendly experience. It also tends to break easily, at least in my opinion. I’ve had ongoing problems with Ubuntu, as soon as I installed Fedora all the problems went away.

Gnome is where the heart is for me! It’s just so customizable, the extension framework is such a cool concept. And yes, I know, KDE has a lot of bells and whistles, and I think think that’s why I dislike it. It’s cluttered, Gnome is simple. I like the polish and the smoothness, KDE is nice for people who want more but I’m happy with less. Thanks for coming to my TED talk!

5·6 months agoCan one just remove GSF and bypass this? Or is it something going to be built into Android going forward? Genuinely curious.
I manage to find the issue, it was my USB drive. The machine is currently humming along with Fedora 42, I’m just now installing Nvidia drivers.
It turned out to be my crappy, no name USB. All OSes boot fine now, even 64-bit. I love when computer shit is simple.
Linux wins the day, viva la Tux!
All checked but I am going to try a different USB.

Couldn’t have said it better myself. I live with someone who won’t stop crowing about the illegality of it all. Like, dude, I fucking get it, but also these fucks were evil from the very FUCKING start and the rule of law is meaningless without anyone to actually enforce it.
There’s also a chance I’ll add a community on Matrix or similar if people are interested. Honestly, I just wanted to contribute something, and try to do something better than what Reddit had to offer. (Which was a whole load in and of itself)
