I’m nowhere near an expert, but that’s solely a cost issue. We certainly have the tech and the oil companies would be happy to retool with taxpayer dollars. What’s another trillion or three between friends?

I think about this. Functionally he’s a puppet of Putin, but I don’t think that it’s an “active” stooging. Trump wants to BE a dictator and Putin is very intelligent, so he’s able to ply Trump to his will. Trump probably cares more about the pee-tapes than it’d actually affect him.
It’s actually looking like Trump might have burned a few bridges and the adults in other countries are finally in a position of power.

It’s not just normal insurance cost either. These ships take years to replace. They also have to insure against the multiple years worth of profits and loss of market share.

Unitarian is not Christian. There are a lot of disaffected Christians at your local Unitarian church, but they welcome all religions as well as atheists.

Crockett is great at the “sick burn” politics. Great for people who subscribe to RawStory for all their news, and I’d have been happy enough to vote for her, but Talarico seems to be more substantive and let’s be honest, a white guy vs black woman in Texas is a bit more of a challenge.

Microsoft wants you to own a computer and pay for their office app on subscription. The others want you to just let go of hardware and be a part of their AI ecosystems.

Exabytes. Petabytes are easily surpassed by a lot of companies these days.

They drove a large swath of stores out of business. It’s vastly more difficult

Yep. The courts could sort of solve this with a large rubber stamp that says “Nope”, but our court system has been replaced by a tall Australian Marsupial.

Aileen is pretty busy these days I hear.

Having done as much research into this as the average mom does into vaccines…
I’m convinced that this is a monkey throwing poop at the wall to see what sticks. Monkeys don’t seem to have much of a cohesive plan, it’s just kinda funny to throw shit.

That’s insulting to rocks.

I’d have a stern talking to the lad, while he’s eating the biggest wad of cotton candy on whatever mega-rollercoaster is closest to our house.

I’ve not missed a Veritasium video in a long time 😄. I’m sure that RAM is much easier to produce, but DRR5 is pretty complex still, and is what has been snapped up in whole by these AI companies. I’m actually wondering if we’ll see a resurgence of DDR4 motherboards, as those fabs are likely around still, just likely more idle if used at all.

I’m fairly certain that spinning up RAM fabs isn’t super quick nor something that doesn’t require the most cutting edge tech.
China is definitely ahead of the US in a lot of tech, but unless they do invade Taiwan they might not have quite a deep enough bench.
Stop with the RawStory links. It’s sensationalized garbage pandering to progressive values.

Money isn’t a thing. I saw that Musk is at 700B now. He can spend a million dollars a DAY for nearly two thousand YEARS.

Since 1982 Pennys are zinc with a thin (2.5%) copper cladding.
Had a Nissan Leaf few years. Never needed a 240v. On the standard 120v charger it gained about 5 miles every hour it was plugged in. Most every day it was in my driveway for 12+ hours so even when it was super close to dead, after dinner and sleeping it’d be up to 60ish miles of charge. My commute was 22 miles round trip, so it was almost always fully charged in the AM, and I was able (but it was a pita to run the cable) to charge it at my office on 120v as well in case it was ever a real problem.
