  • Can these things hit 100 or 1000 swarming micro drones? I really don’t know, but would bet that it’s got a limited amount of tracking and fire-rate. At say $1000 per drone including a couple pounds of high explosive charge, I doubt a single one of these can guard any zone.

  • Consulting and Project management are ripe for AI disruption. No way will they be eliminated, but an AI camera tracking the blue collar workers plus a “manager” who is just a data entry clerk, especially when combined with other data sources will remove a massive amount of managing a project.

Consultants and Sales to a large degree are just about listening to clients whine about something and repeating back to management (in a different voice) the same things that their own staff is saying. LLMs are good at being that different voice.

  • Correct, we don’t need Doctors for every scrape in the exact same way that I can explain a social situation to a LLM and it can help by referencing back to published literature on that particular topic, suggesting clear guidelines as to how to move forward. Sure there are also broken arms and cancer exists, but the base level (and moving up the chain) is absolutely coming for Psych work.

  • I’m gonna disagree. At 15, I’m absolutely fine with you wanting to be a different gender, but your body and brain have a long way to go before they are fully developed and adding chemicals isn’t something I can get behind. In the same way that avoiding peanuts is linked to causing peanut allergies, at 15 your body generally knows what to do. There are certainly edge cases that a qualified doctor can advise on, but I’d caution against adding to the crazy mix of hormones that are already racing through any 15 year old’s body.

  • Yeah, I get all that. Link is still messed up. There certainly are functional prototypes of quad-copter “cars” that are all electrical in nature and that’s what I’d expect here too. Throw some wheels on one of those with a “road” speed of say 30-35 for the residential runaround tasks and the drive to an approved take off and landing zone (think flying above freeways only) and something like this becomes more feasible. The idea that we’re going to all be driving 4500 lb+++ “cars” is truly laughable.

The closest thing that I’d say exists today as a “flying car” is a Cessna 172 weighing in around 2500 lbs.
