Well there’s a lot more companies that produce flip phones than two and I’ve heard good things about a couple brands

I think they should keep the murderous name, because at this point who DOESNT want AI dead?
I’ve been thinking about it for a while. Back when I started getting more serious about internet privacy I had the idea of switching to a de-Googled phone but when I found out that’d be expensive as hell I had a second idea to get a flip phone and spread out what I use it for across devices. My laptop for services like YouTube and streaming, MP3 player for music, a digital camera for my camera, etc. Also expensive but the individual devices are cheaper so I can more easily slowly chip away at it, first thing I’m getting is an MP3 player because I got my Dad to buy me one for Christmas.

I got my computer in 2022 and switched to Linux this year so for a 3 year period I got to experience Windows 11 get worse in real time. Co-Pilot being built in is what completely broke me I think.

It couldn’t be that hard to make new code that achieves the same thing with the new taskbar.

Since my Dad wasnt able to get me a Google Pixel I’m honestly considering a dumbphone at this point. Make my Samsung a glorified MP3 player.
For me its less “I have nothing to hide” and more “I am literally forced to use this because I have no other option”
Samsung because I cannot afford a Google Pixel that still supports GrapheneOS, I didn’t get the money I needed
Steam because I can’t play my games without them
Amazon cause that’s the only online store my parents will buy from 99% of the time
And Discord because all my friends are on there and I cant get them to move, plus there’s currently not a very good Discord alternative imo

I’ve heard that there’s phones that use Linux, so I imagine once modifying Android isn’t an option focus will probably go into making that more viable.
Yeah it’s a Firefox fork that has a focus on customization, one of my favorite artists used it so I wanted to check it out and it’s become my favorite to use. Favorite function of it is the custom sidebar it has that lets you open sites on a side window which I use to quick access my emails and some social media sites.
