cat /proc/sys/vm/swappiness

Open /etc/sysctl.conf for editing:

sudo gedit /etc/sysctl.conf

Add vm.swappiness=10 at the end and save the file.

Reboot your system and check the swappiness value:

cat /proc/sys/vm/swappiness # 10

I am under the impression that Signal encrypts metadata so that is useless to sell. The only thing they can turn over to law enforcement after a lawful warrant is the phone number an account was opened with (and maybe the date that happened) and the date of the last time the account was used. That is all.

I am paying attention to both Ladybird and Servo but am not yet “excited” about either. I am hoping they both continue to improve and become more usable (for me - YMMV) but do not expect the possibility of Daily Driver usage (again, for my use model) for at least another year.

Every so often (maybe once a year) I look through my music collection and then go “Oh, I forgot about this band that I used to love” and then look them up and see if anything new from them is out. If the band has broken up I also look up the band members to see what bands they are now in or people they have worked with etc. The Six degrees of separation thing works quite well.
