Boston looks much easier to navigate though. Much clearer road hierarchy, meaning better flowing traffic, and less traffic near houses and shops.

Best do that with something that hides the taste well. Maybe create a drink so aggressive that it might as well be a cleaning product. Just add some caramel to paint the whole thing black and you’re good to go. People will love you coca product.

I have barely any experience with raw gdb, but debugging is something that allows for a lot of contextual actions. Even just placing a breakpoint is simpler if you can click the line instead of copy-pasting the line number. But also evaluating expresssions while on a breakpoint, or a graph with an overview of all threads. I doubt these are straight-forward commands in gdb, and if they are, you need to figure out the exact parameters (like line number).

Furthermore, I have tried raw gdb once, and got super confused as to what I was supposed to do or look at. Yet every IDE makes it trivial to use debuggers. Learning the options available to you is much easier in a well designed GUI.

GUIs just being front-ends for a CLI tool is a horrible idea. This is why most git GUIs fail so terribly. I have seen too many of those where all the buttons were just replacements for CLI calls. If it is just a front-end for a CLI, then why the heck not just use the CLI?

A good git GUI has not been designed to just wrap the CLI. Instead, it works with the structure of git (commits, branches, tags, etc), and builds around those from the ground up. Only once the functionality has been designed should the question arise: What CLI commands do we need to implement this?

Ik heb een keer gehad dat de treindeuren nog dicht waren, en de trein helemaal donker was. Kon nog niet naar binnen. Dus ik raak verdiept in mn telefoon, tot ik plots zie dat het al tijd is voor mijn trein om te vertrekken. Maar de trein voor mn neus is nog steeds donker. Before Microsoft demanded TPM 2.0, you could install the latest version of Windows on extremely old hardware. Easily reaching that 15 years. We had this already. And Windows 11 can easily run without TPM 2.0. Microsoft just has business reasons to demand it. So I don’t see how innovation is slowed down by this.

Eindhoven and Twente are both also regions with good demand. Both in no small part due to the STEM universities located in these regions.

People are more motivated by feelings than actual logic. The person you are responding to even states that Ubuntu “feels good to use”. That is some car advertisement level of feeling based reasoning.

Another thing is that people really hate it when things change. Especially a UI change. Every change in the Windows UI has been met with disgust. And if there is one thing different between linux distros, it’s where they place all the buttons, menus, etc. So people prefer to stay with the distro they know.

The puzzling part is fun, because you are constantly learning new ways to use your body. See how to balance, how to move around, etc. I have found that dancing gives a similar learning challenge. Especially the more free-form dances like salsa and bachata. It’s fun learning new moves every week during the lesson, and then try to see if you can put them to practise during a party.

And don’t worry about beeing to stiff. If you can balance around boulders, you can get your body to move around for dancing too. Just takes some practise. I currently do both, and feel like I lack dexterity more for the climbing than for the dancing.

And unlike most of the hand-friendly options mentioned already, you do have to use your hands and arms a lot. Just not in a way that puts any stress on them.

Makes sense from an internet topology point of view. The Netherlands is quite centrally located when looking at international connections. The amount of data centers is also quite high, especially for the population.

Point 1 has to be chosen when the cat is young. Forcing an outside cat to suddenly only be inside often doesn’t work.

I adopted a 7-year-old cat from the shelter, and after a week of having to be inside all the time, he got more and more frustrated. After a week and a half, he escaped during the night. In the morning, while I was panicking, he came strolling in as if nothing was wrong.

Since he apparently comes back, I allowed him outside from then on. Since that moment, his behaviour inside has improved a lot. No more random play attacks on my ankles and hands, and generally much calmer.

He has also come back home with mice several times. He always eats them. So I think he is very used to living outside. Maybe been a stray, or a farm cat.

Forcing him to be inside would feel cruel.

Omdat het niet gaat om de bedrijven die al lang en breed graag willen dat je pint. Die bedrijven werken al samen om cashless mogelijk te maken via acties zoals “Klein bedrag? Pinnen mag!”. Juist de laatste overgebleven bedrijven waar je niet kan pinnen, maken het soms onmogelijk om cashless te gaan.

Vrijwillige omgang naar electronische betaalmiddelen is al extreem hoog. Maar blijkbaar heeft dat geen invloed op deze bedrijven. Als je cashless toch mogelijk wilt maken, zul je de laatste paar bedrijven somehow moeten forceren. Alleen de overheid kan dat.

In welke mate dat een slim idee is, en niet gewoon een opwelling van iemand die uit frustratie maar wat tiept in een anonieme online comment, is een andere discussie.

Het is tegenwoordig al mogelijk om een mobietje om te toveren tot een pin apparaat. En tikkie achtigen betaal verzoekjes zijn ook gewoon een ding. Dus ik ben het helemaal met je eens dat dit gewoon kan tegenwoordig.
