There weren open test servers though and sites with limited trials but no data limit.

That’s what I used back in the day. Sadly all these trial offers are gone now and demand credit card information upfront.

It’s a shame Usenet has become fully paid. It’s what ultimately pushed me into torrents. And the fact that small communities don’t have all the content out there for you to download via Usenet.

A first step would be to make a basis for your study an ideological interpretation of democracy.

You can quickly see if such studies are burger-eagle institute studies by looking at a few key examples. Compare Switzerland and Cuba. Some of the most democratic nations to have ever existed. Yet Cuba is always rated far worse because it’s in opposition to the cultural hegemony of the west. I.e. then a study uses a western definition of democracy that skews heavily in favour of some statistics while completely ignoring others. For example how democratic an economy is run is almost never any observed factor for democracy indexes. Then other things are weighted out of ideological bias, for example more parties = more democracy. Completely ignoring that party democracies are not the only form of democracy.

Take it with a pinch of salt.

It’s a politically biased study, not a neutral scientific study (Unscientific in its parameters for what constitutes a democracy). It’s another case of a burger-eagle institute study.

That is not to say that democracy is on a global decline. The study captures that but still it’s baseline is flawed.

Every now and then Twitch wastes money on circumventing adblockers, but a few weeks later ublock filters will be updated to block that again. I’m currently watching without any ads or third party add-ons besides regular uBlock.

It is a paid VPN luckily though. The issue is with “free” VPN browser add-ons.

There’s also different adblocker rules and extensions for twitch ads.

For some games and websites I have to turn it off yeah. Or at least switch the server to one that isn’t blocked.

It’s a shame that websites are allowed to track and block VPNs.

Never use VPN add-ons for your browser. Unless you get them along with your paid VPN. You should run your entire network through the VPN, not just a browser.
