This. NTFS is still the gold standard for stability. ReFS is meant for data ops, and while it’s fairly stable, and offers a lot of advantages, it’s not perfect and can suffer greatly if used incorrectly. Until the quirks are gone, users are probably better off with NTFS for a lot of reasons.

We finally had to break down and accept a smart TV as our last purchase. I didn’t want anything like that on my network. It never gets updates, it never talks to home, it never asks me to agree to anything. The way a display should be.

I do have a few IOT monitors, but they are relegated to the banishment VLAN and are unaware there is anything else on network in the house.

For those who want an dumb TV, you want to shop for a commercial signage display. It’s what a TV should be.

Projectors are also a good option if you want a huge picture with a simple display.

Have you tried using the steam mobile app? I think that has some advanced recovery options. Unsure if you can change the registered email that way, but might be worth a shot.

To get customers to upgrade, they have to release Windows 12. We only upgrade every other major version, because every other major version is terrible. Including W11.

There are a number of collectors and enthusiasts who enjoy alternative types of media. It was an experience listening to music on tape and hearing the hiss of the tape. It has a different sound to it, sort of like vinyl.

If there’s money to be made, they’ll find ways to get it. If that means selling tapes, they’ll sell tapes again. Records are still back in style and being mass produced again.

It’s all about what works best for the particular individual. The majority of people want some hand-holding, and that’s ok. Not everyone is into designing their own hotends or completely rebuilding stock printers into monsters :)

TBH I prefer the older machines, I stay away from the proprietary all-in-one stuff. I’m all about modularity, and usually means keeping parts and processes standard between builds for production’s sake.

My fleet of ender 3’s have upgraded themselves all to direct drive linear rail dual z, etc. but they’ve also been instrumental in creating dummy and temp parts to build multiple CNC machines, which then are used to make their own final parts. It’s wild what you can do!

I’m currently rebuilding a brand new AnyCubic Kobra2 max, since the factory controller hardware is trash. I bought it for the frame and hotbed. It’s getting all new motion control, klipper, direct drive, bl touch, and a input shaping among other things.

I can count on one hand how many “toys” I’ve printed. I have printed thousands of useful/needed items, though. That tool is indispensable to me. It’s crazy how far prototyping tech has come.

Yeah they are, I noticed it get really, really bad this week. It’s an awful experience. But they’ll leave my browser before my adblocker does.

I want to see more companies doing this.

Buy a commercial signage display. It’s just a TV without the smart garbage.

Or, get a projector :)
